Joe Biden Leaves Saudi Arabia Humiliated

We all knew this would be a train wreck. White House Steward Joe Biden has left Saudi Arabia humiliated. In 2020, Biden declared that the kingdom was a “pariah” after the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018. I couldn’t care less. The man walked into the Saudi consulate in Istanbul to collect certain documents regarding his pending marriage. He probably knew the risks. The nasty part about this story isn’t the sordid tales of torture and dismemberment that reportedly happened to Khashoggi. It’s the reaction. Everyone acted as if Walter Cronkite was the person butchered. The outrage was more intense because Khashoggi died while Trump was president. There would have been a more muted response if Hillary were at the helm.

Report: Saudi Arabia Doubling Purchases of Cheap Russian Oil

The amount of Russian fuel oil imported by Saudi Arabia between April and June of this year more than doubled compared to last year, Reuters reported Friday.

That was up from 320,000 tonnes in the same period a year ago,” the news agency reported on July 15.

Saudi authorities seize rainbow toys for promoting homosexuality

Authorities in Saudi Arabia have been seizing rainbow-coloured toys and children’s clothing, which they claim encourage homosexuality, state TV says.

An Al-Ekhbariya report showed commerce ministry officials removing a range of items from shops in the capital Riyadh.

They included hair clips, pop-its, t-shirts, hats and pencil cases.

One official said the items “contradict the Islamic faith and public morals, and promote homosexual colours targeting the younger generation”.

Saudis’ Biden snub suggests crown prince still banking on Trump’s return

Saudi Arabia appears to be banking on Donald Trump’s return to office by refusing to help the US punish Russia for the Ukraine invasion, and by placing $2bn in a new, untested investment fund run by Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.

In seeking to persuade Riyadh to increase oil production so as to lower prices by as much as 30%, and thereby curb Russian government revenue, the Biden administration is looking for ways to reassure the Saudi government that it is dedicated to the kingdom’s security.

Biden’s Middle East: Saudi Arabia Embraces China; Will They Topple the Dollar?

Saudi Arabia is considering selling oil to China — which buys more than 25% of Saudi oil exports — in exchange for yuan (China’s currency), according to a recent report by the Wall Street Journal. The move would be unprecedented. Saudi Arabia, ever since its 1974 agreement with US President Richard Nixon, has been selling oil in exchange for US dollars.

The change, if realized, would be significant. The status of the US dollar, including as the world’s reserve currency, depends on its dominance of global markets, especially the oil market, where 80% of sales are done in US dollars. If Saudi Arabia were to break the tradition of pricing its oil in dollars, as it is contemplating doing, others could well start to price oil in yuan or other currencies — negatively affecting the US dollar’s status and potentially the entire US economy.

Saudi comedy shows (I know, right?) are now mocking Biden

Just let the poor old man go home to his basement in Delaware.

A Saudi television show mocked President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris with a “Saturday Night Live”-style send-up.

The clip from the show “Studio 22,” which was broadcast on the Saudi government-owned television conglomerate MBC, portrays Biden as a forgetful old man who falls asleep at the podium and needs to be woken up by a helpless Harris.

Saudi court orders first naming of man guilty of sexual harassment

A court in Saudi Arabia has for the first time ordered that a man convicted of sexual harassment be named and shamed in public, local media report.

US intel and satellite images show Saudi Arabia is now building its own ballistic missiles with help of China

US intelligence agencies have assessed that Saudi Arabia is now actively manufacturing its own ballistic missiles with the help of China, CNN has learned, a development that could have significant ripple effects across the Middle East and complicate the Biden administration’s efforts to restrain the nuclear ambitions of Iran, the Saudis’ top regional rival.

Saudi Arabia is known to have purchased ballistic missiles from China in the past but has never been able to build its own — until now, according to three sources familiar with the latest intelligence. Satellite images obtained by CNN also suggest the Kingdom is currently manufacturing the weapons in at least one location.

The Bug-Out is going to plan says the State Department.

The FBI released declassified records from its secretive investigation that explored potential links between the Saudi government and 9/11, with some of the long-anticipated documents released on the 20th anniversary of the al Qaeda terrorist attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people.

Families of the 9/11 victims have sought a host of details tied to possible Saudi government involvement in the attacks. Last week, President Joe Biden issued an executive order directing the Justice Department to declassify information stemming from an FBI inquiry into possible Saudi-9/11 links.

The return of American anti-anti-Islamism

Biden’s recalibration of Saudi Arabian ties betokens disaster for the US and the west

America’s former Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, has denounced as a “reckless” move and “political stunt” the Biden administration’s release at the weekend of a declassified report by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence implicating the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, in the killing of the Saudi writer, Jamal Khashoggi in 2018.

Jamal Khashoggi: US says Saudi prince approved Khashoggi killing

A US intelligence report has found that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman approved the murder of exiled journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018.

The declassified report released by the Biden administration says the prince approved a plan to either “capture or kill” the US-based Saudi exile.

It is the first time America has publicly named the crown prince, who denies ordering the murder.

Khashoggi was killed while visiting the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey.

Saudi state companies sue ex-spy chief in Canada over alleged $3bn fraud

Saudi state-owned companies have sued the country’s former intelligence chief in a Canadian court, alleging he stole billions of dollars, according to documents obtained by the news agency Agence France-Presse.

The 10 subsidiaries of Tahakom Investment Co – which is owned by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund – said in the civil suit filed in Ontario superior court that Saad Aljabri committed a “massive fraud” totalling at least US$3.47bn.

Aljabri, exiled in Canada, was a top aide to Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, who was deposed as heir to the throne by Prince Mohammed bin Salman in a 2017 palace coup.
