LILLEY: Why are more people unemployed in Toronto than all of Quebec?

There are more unemployed people in Toronto than in all of Quebec.

When that stat was passed my way the other day, I was dismissive and thought it was someone on social media making things up.

Turns out it is 100% accurate and the reasons behind it are disturbing.

How We Got to 41 Million

For decades, Canada has been a model of inclusive immigration. But over the last few years, the Liberals have admitted too many people, too fast. Why did no one see it coming?

When Canada’s population hit 40 million people last June, the federal government could not contain its excitement. “It’s a strong signal that Canada remains a dynamic and welcoming country, full of potential,” said Anil Arora, Canada’s chief statistician. Canada had grown more quickly than expected—by 1.1 million people over the previous 12 months, mostly due to a huge wave of international students and temporary foreign workers. And yet, despite the fanfare, this population boom wasn’t a good-news story. Because there were not enough homes for all those new people.

The Liberals did see it coming, so did their corporate cronies. Each will benefit from the deliberate harm they have visited upon Canada.

The Liberals intentionally set out to undermine Canadian society by importing votes by the millions.

Our Captains of industry squeal with delight at the pool of wage depressing cheap labour and the profits they’ll reap exploiting the shortages mass immigration creates.

Rest assured virtually none of the foreign students or temporary workers will ever be deported.

Spit in a Liberal’s face.

Trudeau’s out-of-control immigration policies hitting Canada hard

In the last six months, Canada has added nearly 600,000 people to our population due to out-of-control immigration. That’s an increase in population of 1.5% in just six months — or put another way, we are increasing our population at a rate of 3% a year, all through immigration.

Live in TO?

Have your municipal taxes gone up?

One reason is the thousands of migrants Trudeau is dumping in Toronto.

Toronto Unemployment Hits 317k People, More Than All of Quebec

If Greater Toronto is still ahead of the national curve, Canada may be in trouble. Statistics Canada (Stat Can) data shows the unemployment rate climbed sharply in May. Rising unemployment is a national trend, but the rapid pace at which it’s climbing can be attributed to Greater Toronto, home to a third of the increased unemployment in the past year. It’s a general trend across Southern Ontario, which has gone from the driver of the national economy to a major drag.

Most Canadians Say Home Ownership Unattainable Despite Rate Cut: Poll

Despite the Bank of Canada’s decision to drop interest rates, it’s not enough for most Canadians to get into the housing market, according to a recent poll.

On June 4 the Bank of Canada dropped its key interest rate by 0.25 percent from five percent to 4.75 percent. It was the first cut in four years.

However, in a June 11 survey by polling firm Ipsos, eight in 10 (82 percent) of respondents said that even if interest rates drop further, homeownership will still be unattainable for them. Sixty-two percent said they’ve given up on ever owning a home.

Douglas Todd: Disease spreads by overcrowding, made worse by housing unaffordability

As if there are not enough problems with the exorbitant cost of housing, now we must face up to how it contributes to poor health.

Overcrowding within houses and apartments helps spread disease, according to studies in the U.S., Britain and Australia.

Overcrowding, which is calculated on the number of people living together per square foot, could be at its worst in almost a century in English-speaking countries.

Message From Europe: Immigration is the defining issue of our time — and voters know it. Will the West’s elites listen?

As yesterday’s European election results came in, media coverage began to take on a distinct sense of dread. “A far right surge upends national politics,” blared one CNN headline. “Far right gains deal stunning defeats to France’s Macron and Germany’s Scholz,” declared PBS. A New York Times title sought to strike a relatively optimistic tone, finding solace in the fact that “In E.U. Elections, the Center Holds” — but, it noted glumly, “the Far Right Still Wreaks Havoc.”

Indeed, the suite of nationalist, anti-immigration parties that the media consistently insists on describing as “far right” made gains that were “even more stunning than many analysts predicted,” CBS noted. While the nationalists did not muster enough votes to wrest control of the European Union from the body’s current center-right majority, its substantial gains were yet another sign of surging popular momentum for a coalition that was regarded as fringe and marginal just a few years ago — particularly in a number of the E.U.’s most powerful and influential nations.

Mass immigration is about to tear apart British society

Nobody voted for mass migration; taxpayers have had no say in it; and everybody has been told that they must accept it. It is simply wrong

For the first time in my life, sectarian politics has become a part of English political life. The rigid adherence to a narrow set of beliefs – whether religious or ethnic – is beginning to cause serious problems. This intolerance seems to be growing in tandem with votes being cast en masse along certain lines.

Evidence is not hard to find. Just this month after a local election in Leeds a Green Party councillor called Mothin Ali shouted “Allahu Akbar!” after being elected to a city council. This shocked many people and outraged others. On Wednesday, a pro-Palestinian protest near Downing Street turned violent after thousands of people staged an “emergency rally”. A policewoman suffered facial injuries from a glass bottle. In the summer of 2022, there were ugly clashes in Birmingham between Hindus and Muslims.

Jamie Sarkonak: Liberals water down citizenship for grandkids of convenience Canadians

A CBC ad campaign last summer tried to define the increasingly amorphous sense of “Canadianness” on which its brand is built: “It’s not how Canadian you are; it’s who you are in Canada.” But, if the Liberals have their way, even this tagline will be outdated soon.

Trudeau Liberals’ immigration policies purposefully altering Canada

Canada’s Immigration Minister, Marc Miller, has commanded center stage in Ottawa over the past few weeks making a rash of new policy announcements. The changes being made to Canada’s immigration system will make it easier for newcomers to come into the country – seemingly without regard for either the costs to taxpayers or the strain placed on Canadians’ social contract.

Last Thursday, the government tabled legislation that extends birthright citizenship, allowing Canadians who live abroad to pass down “Canadian citizenship” to their children who may have been born outside the country and live abroad. This allows for a person who never has set foot in Canada to hold Canadian citizenship based on one of their parents’ citizenship.

“Allahu Akbar” was a campaign slogan in UK local elections

Islamic candidates won in British local elections because they are the majority. And the UK is not alone in that.

Political Islam candidates have won local elections in England in large numbers, simply because they had a majority. These are the consequences of uncontrolled Muslim immigration.

Dark times lie ahead, not just for Great Britain. And this, more than the low numbers of the flaccid Tories who deserved a sound defeat in the general elections, is the most incredible fact.

A Green Party candidate, Mothin Ali, shouted “Allahu Akbar!” after being elected to Leeds City Council, while his supporters waved the Palestinian flag and a silly Green politician clapped her hands.
