As Trump trial hurtles towards verdict, are Americans paying attention?

It had all the promise of an only-in-America blockbuster trial, brimming with salacious detail and a former president in the dock.

In fact, it’s hard to imagine a bigger courtroom drama, tailor-made for the media, than one that stars Donald Trump, once the world’s most powerful figure and someone vying to be so again, forced to sit through allegations of an awkward sexual encounter with a porn actress.

A political and legal thriller in which a man – not known for his humility – has had to listen, often with eyes tightly shut, as everything from depictions of his satin pyjamas and comparisons to a “Cheeto-dusted cartoon villain” have entered the court record.

Most people know bullshit when they see it.

Joe Biden’s bid to paint Trump as a Nazi again goes kaput

Despite the flashing of actual swastikas at pro-Hamas protests among the Dearborn set which votes Democrat, Joe Biden is determined to pin the ‘Nazi’ label on President Trump, which is falling flat.

He’s done it at least once, errantly hammering over and over again the misheard, out-of-context “fine people” statement President Trump made about a riot. And in his raging warnings about Trump being a threat to ‘democracy,’ he’s looked distinctly Hitlerian himself against a red backdrop.

A Verdict in Trump’s Trial Could Come at the End of Next Week: What Will Happen if He’s Convicted?

The first criminal trial against a former president in the history of the United States could see a verdict by the end of next week. Closing arguments for President’s Trump’s hush money trial will begin on Tuesday and probably last the entire day. Then, presumably, on Wednesday morning the judge will instruct the jury on the charges, after which the five women and seven men will go into deliberation. If the twelve jurors return with a guilty verdict, which must be unanimous on each count, what will happen to Mr. Trump?

The odds of Trump returning to power are increasing. Is Ottawa ready?

The hopes that Donald Trump’s multiple legal problems would seriously damage his election bid are fading.

The long-running hush money trial hasn’t dented his support in opinion polls. Most legal experts are predicting an acquittal or a hung jury. Even if convicted, it’s uncertain that there would be much negative impact.

As his luck would have it, trials on three other more serious sets of charges are all now likely to be put off until after the Nov. 5 election day.

This would be great.

The Left’s Lawfare Scorecard Against Trump Is Looking Pretty Bad at This Point

The wheels of justice grind slow, but they grind exceedingly fine.

If you’re like me, you may have been losing faith in the U.S. justice system, as it has been politicized, weaponized, and turned against Donald Trump and his supporters. But as time has passed, the cavalcade of bogus cases against the past and future president has been disintegrating like comets passing into the Earth’s atmosphere. Let’s begin with the most recent meltdown.

Judge Cannon Declares Herself ‘Disappointed’ in Jack Smith, Whose Mar-a-Lago Case Against Trump Is in Serious Danger

Judge Aileen Cannon is “disappointed” in Special Counsel Jack Smith, a development that does not bode well for the prosecutor’s hopes to put President Trump on trial for mishandling America’s secrets at Mar-a-Lago.

The reprimand came in a weekend order from Judge Cannon disposing of a range of matters relating to requests for redactions submitted by Messrs. Trump and Smith. The special counsel has, she explains, asserted a “need for continued secrecy over the subject material” found at the Palm Beach manse.

Michael Cohen admits stealing $60,000 from Trump while dealing with Tiffany Trump photograph blackmail scheme

The prosecution’s ‘star witness’ Michael Cohen is back on the stand for a third day, as the court waits with bated breath to find out whether former President Donald Trump could testify himself.

He finally admitted under oath that he stole $60,000 from the Trump Organization by ‘grossing up’ payments for tax. Donald Trump was seen shaking his head as his former ‘fixer’ made the revelation, confirming he’s a common thief.

Cohen also dramatically revealed that he dealt with an apparent photo ‘extortion’ blackmail attempt involving the ex-president’s daughter, Tiffany.

3 Moments ‘Star Witness’ Michael Cohen Just Undermined Bragg’s ‘Get Trump’ Case

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s flimsy case against former President Donald Trump rests on the testimony of its star witness, convicted liar Michael Cohen. But unsurprisingly, Cohen — and his allegations against Trump — fell apart on the witness stand under cross-examination by Trump’s defense team on Thursday.

Even CNN couldn’t help but admit it.

This Trump trial looks shakier by the day

Courtroom spectacle, resting on a contorted legal theory and a tawdry cast of characters, chiefly hurts the Democrats

It was supposed to be a win-win proposition. Tie Donald Trump down in a Lilliputian web of criminal prosecutions and, whatever the outcome, it would greatly enhance the likelihood that he would never again win a presidential election.

Either he would be convicted in at least one of the cases against him, and those swing voters already uneasy about the man would have to decide whether they could actually elect a bona fide felon as president. Or, even if somehow none of the cases produced a conviction, he would still be so consumed in an election year with trial proceedings, the airwaves so full of sworn testimonies to his moral turpitude, that the sheer weight of it all would sink him.

‘Good chance’ we’ll leave US if Trump acquitted, Stormy Daniels husband says

The husband of Stormy Daniels said there is a “good chance” that the couple will leave the US if Donald Trump is acquitted in his criminal trial over paying hush-money payments to the adult film star.

“I think if it’s not guilty, we got to decide what to do. Good chance we’ll probably vacate this country,” Barrett Blade told CNN host Erin Burnett on Tuesday.

“If he is found guilty, then she’s still got to deal with all the hate. I feel like she’s the reason that he’s guilty from all his followers, so I don’t see it as a win-win situation either way.”
