Russia Evades G7 Crude Sanctions

Russia has completely evaded G7 sanctions on its crude oil, recovering earlier losses on its petroleum while squeezing Europe again on energy. In fact, Russian crude oil exports increased 50% this spring.

In December 2022, the G7 and Australia agreed to a cap of $60 per barrel on Russian crude oil, with the idea of keeping the petroleum flowing into global markets but limiting Russia’s ability to profit from it. At first, it seemed to work as the price of Russian oil dropped to $40 per barrel. Russia was already responding, though, seeking out countries outside the G7 for its now-discounted oil and building a so-called “dark fleet” of non-Western ships to transport its oil without suffering the price cap, which also applied to oil transported on Western ships.

Trudeau Apologizes For Nazi Adjacent Liberal Party’s Waffen SS Affinity

Trudeau apologizes after a Ukrainian Nazi veteran was celebrated at Zelenskyy speech

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has apologized on behalf of Canada after a veteran of Adolf Hitler’s Nazi forces was included in a parliamentary event last week honouring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“All of us who were in this House on Friday regret deeply having stood and clapped even though we did so unaware of the context,” Trudeau said in a brief statement to reporters.

“It was a horrendous violation of the memory of the millions of people who died in the Holocaust,” he said, saying the celebration of ex-soldier Yaroslav Hunka was “deeply, deeply painful” to Jewish people, Poles, Roma, the LGBT community and other racialized people in particular — some of the groups that were targeted by the Nazi regime in the Second World War.

Canada isn’t guilty of anything. Trudeau and his Nazi party loving pals are guilty.

Parliament’s Nazi scandal a ‘top headline story’ for Russian propaganda news

OTTAWA — On Tuesday, a Russian embassy account posted online that Ukraine was issuing stamps with the face of Yaroslav Hunka, who received a standing ovation in the House of Commons before it was revealed he served in a Nazi unit during the Second World War.

The “completely false” post from Russia’s U.K. embassy uses a fabricated stamp and is an example of how Russia is already using the incident for its own purposes, said Marcus Kolga, senior fellow at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute.

The War in Ukraine Is Also a Giant Arms Fair

Panzerhaubitze howitzer

Arms makers are getting orders for weapons being put to the test on the battlefield

MINKIVKA, Ukraine—The Ukrainian crew of a high-tech German artillery system can shoot three shells within seconds that will simultaneously hit the exact same spot more than 25 miles away.

That is, when the big gun hasn’t broken down.

The Panzerhaubitze howitzer is part of an arsenal of weapons being put to the test in Ukraine in what has become the world’s largest arms fair.

Panzerhaubitze meets Rasputitsa or someone didn’t read their history – “However, the howitzer has a vulnerability to environmental conditions. The equipment’s sensitive electronics are prone to malfunction when exposed to moisture or dirt, requiring soldiers to wear special booties or slippers inside.

Politico repackages the Waffen-SS veteran honored by Zelensky and Trudeau with a more palatable label: ‘Nazi-linked’

If you’re Yaroslav Hunka, you can have fought for a division implicated in war crimes and commanded by literal Nazis, but the marketing team at the leftwing outlet Politico will repackage and sell you as a “veteran accused” and “Nazi-linked,” and you can safely assume that the publication’s dimwitted audience won’t suspect a thing. Media using its position to push out propaganda sympathetic to the regime? Joseph Goebbels, another “Nazi-linked” individual would be beaming with pride!

Carson Jerema: Rota resigns so Trudeau can pretend Nazi scandal isn’t his problem

Canada is being mocked around the world after a man who fought for the Nazis was celebrated in Parliament, presumably by mistake. But on Monday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s chief concern was to ensure everyone that it wasn’t his fault. “The Speaker has acknowledged his mistake and apologized,” he said, repeating the talking point given to every Liberal with a pulse.

Anthony Rota resigns as Speaker after inviting former Ukrainian soldier with Nazi ties to Parliament

Liberal MP Anthony Rota is stepping down as House of Commons Speaker after inviting a Ukrainian veteran who fought in a Nazi division to Parliament — a dramatic turn of events that will be welcomed by MPs on all sides who said the embarrassing incident was unforgivable.

Rota’s resignation will take effect at the end of the sitting day on Wednesday.

Trudeau’s unwillingness to apologize speaks to Canada’s diminishment on the world stage

As this newspaper went to press – remember when we said things like that? – Anthony Rota had not resigned as Speaker of the House of Commons. This is surprising.

After all, Mr. Rota inadvertently invited a man who served in an infamous Waffen SS unit during the Second World War to attend Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s address to the House of Commons, Friday.

Nord Stream explosion: A maze of speculation

It was 2 a.m. on September 26, 2022, when seismic monitoring stations in Denmark, Sweden and Germany registered a weak earth tremor.

At the same time, workers at the pipeline operator Nord Stream registered a sharp drop in pressure in the 1,200-kilometer (745-mile) gas pipes that connect Russia and Germany. As the sun rose over the Baltic Sea, giant bubbles of methane gas could be seen from the air near the Danish island of Bornholm. They were coming to the surface from about 80 meters (260 feet) underwater. Further tremors followed. Soon it became clear: Several sections of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines had been blown up.

A key component of German and European energy infrastructure had been destroyed.

How Did Former Nazis End Up in Canada?

On Sept. 22, Canadian members of Parliament gave a standing ovation in the House of Commons for a former member of the Waffen SS, a Nazi division accused of war crimes during World War II.

The incident, which has now taken centre stage in Canadian politics, happened during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Parliament as Russia’s war against Ukraine rages on. The man in question, Ukrainian-Canadian Yaroslav Hunka, was called “a Canadian hero” by Speaker of the House Anthony Rota and was also thanked for his military service.

John Robson: The Irresponsible Ignorance of Applauding a Nazi Soldier Extends Well Beyond History

If you were to compile a short list of basic political do’s and don’ts, “Don’t applaud a Nazi” would be pretty high up, right? Che Guevara T-shirts are cool. But swastikas? Don’t go there. So how did our entire House of Commons get it wrong?

Well, my own list of political maxims, more strategic than tactical, would include “Study history.” Or nowadays “Study history, don’t erase it.” And it’s pretty clear that none of them realized if someone fought the Russians during World War II he wasn’t on our side. Unless he was Finnish or Polish before 1941, an aside on which I would not want to quiz these Solons.

Was the Canadian parliament wrong to applaud Yaroslav Hunka?

The truth about the 98-year-old Ukrainian former Nazi is complicated

Justin Trudeau’s government has been forced to apologise to Canadian Jewish organisations, after House Speaker Anthony Rota honoured a 98-year-old war veteran — who then turned out to have fought under the Nazis.

The incident occurred following a visit to the Canadian government by Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Rota called out Yaroslav Hunka, a veteran sitting in the gallery, prompting a round of applause. Then someone dug up a blog post Hunka wrote in 2011 describing his wartime service — under Hitler.

The ADL declared the Azov Battalion deradicalized? Who knew!

Senior Liberals believe Anthony Rota should step aside, Radio-Canada sources say

Multiple Liberal cabinet ministers say they believe Anthony Rota’s days as House of Commons Speaker are numbered, Radio-Canada has learned.

That Rota is still in the job causes discomfort in the Liberal caucus, sources told Radio-Canada, after he invited a Ukrainian veteran who fought in a Nazi unit to watch Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s speech to Parliament on Friday.

The opposition parties could force a vote on a motion in the House of Commons calling for the Speaker to step down. If that happens, several influential members of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s cabinet told Radio-Canada they can’t imagine a scenario where Liberal MPs would vote to save Rota’s skin.

Gotta protect Junior.

The ridiculous Liberals have shamed Canada by honouring a Nazi in Parliament

Liberals, Socialists and other progressives often claim that Conservatives are in bed with the far right and Nazis. This repulsive term is sometimes used to describe Conservatives themselves.

Well, that’s not going to work anymore. The political left can thank Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Liberals for this after they unwittingly honoured a Nazi in Parliament.
