“Woke Royals”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, aka climate worriers Harry and Meghan, departed on a private jet to enjoy some Caribbean solitude after attending a ­conference that claimed “climate change” is damaging children’s mental health.

Conventional wisdom would suggest that a divisive, high-handed former actress with a failed record of public service in Britain and no legislative experience would be an unlikely candidate to serve in the highly respected US Senate. Not to mention the fact that the actress has earned the just opprobrium of America’s strongest ally for having vilified one of its most deeply respected institutions. But in Joe Biden’s America, where virtue signaling and identity characteristics are the chief selection qualities for office – and competence is an afterthought – Meghan Markle seems a likely candidate for high office.

Might things be looking rosier for Prince Harry if he were a princess? According to audio tapes unheard until recently, the duke of Sussex’s mother, Princess Diana, said that at Harry’s christening in 1984, the prince of Wales at the time, King Charles, said, “We thought it would be a girl.”

That was not to be — nor, apparently, was Hollywood success a guarantee for the renegade royal despite his marriage to a former actress, Meghan Markle. Now, Harry’s “Heart of Invictus” documentary has failed to crack Netflix’s top 10 in both Britain and America since it was released last week.

Patrick Christys has mocked claims that King Charles and Prince William are planning “peace talks” with Prince Harry, telling Sky News Australia the only time that the Prince of Wales should meet with his estranged brother is to “batter him.”

An insider told OK! Magazine that Charles has rescheduled an official visit to France because he and William are planning a reconciliation meeting with Harry to take place when the Duke of Sussex is in Europe next month for the Invictus Games.

However, the veteran British journalist claims the Sussexes have likely “planted” that rumour in the tabloids, because the duo knows the “only currency” they have is their ties to the royal family.

King Charles does not want Prince Andrew to ‘come out of the freezer’, sources have said – amid fears from royal aides that there are still ‘unexploded bombs’ over his links to the Epstein scandal.

Royal sources are concerned the Duke of York is ‘more of a long-term problem’ than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

It comes as plans to move Andrew out of the £30million Royal Lodge at the Windsor estate into Frogmore Cottage appear to have been shelved, sources claimed.

Years ago when she was an actress, Meghan Markle often wrote in her blog The Tig about the group she called her ‘closest friends’. Some were soulmates, others were celebrities she met at showbiz events and parties. Gradually, that circle of chums broadened to include clothes designers, socialites and charity campaigners.

Among them were David and Victoria Beckham, who were guests at her wedding to Prince Harry at Windsor in 2018. However, their friendship seems to have died. Reciprocally, Meghan and Harry were not guests at the wedding of the Beckhams’ son Brooklyn to US heiress Nicola Peltz in April last year.

Even the Hollywood elites are tired of the Sussexes’ tales of woe.

When Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, first appeared on the world stage, she felt to many of us like a bi-racial breath of fresh air, beloved by all but the most stuffy among us. That was until ‘Megxit’ in 2020, when she left the royal family at a trot, dragging the hapless Harry behind her, to spend the rest of her days in a gated community in California. Deals with Netflix, Spotify and book publishers flooded in soon after. Apparently, there was a huge, lucrative market for Harry and Meghan’s ‘insights’.
