Virginia Giuffre’s family has called Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest a “stain” on the royal family and said they hoped the moment would lead to a “cultural change” where powerful people are held to account.

Giuffre’s allegations of abuse by Andrew more than a decade ago paved the way for a substantial US civil lawsuit settlement, the loss of his royal titles and patronages and his removal from public life.

He left the police station under the cover of darkness. Slumped in the back seat of a car, wild-eyed and exhausted, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor looked like a man with the full weight of the past and the future on his shoulders.

A man born in a palace as Prince Andrew spent his 66th birthday at a police station on Thursday, becoming the first member of the Royal family in modern history to be arrested.

By nightfall, after nearly 12 hours in custody, he was released under caution with more questions to come. The magnitude of his fall from grace seemed etched on his face.

LONDON — British police have arrested Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor — formerly known as Prince Andrew — on suspicion of misconduct in public office, Thames Valley Police confirmed Thursday morning.

The arrest, believed to set a historical precedent in Britain, came on his 66th birthday. Officers were seen at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, where the former prince has been living since being evicted from his sprawling royal residence. At least six unmarked police cars were photographed arriving at Wood Farm, his current residence on King Charles’s Sandringham estate, with around eight officers thought to be on site, the BBC reported. Searches were also conducted at an address in Berkshire, likely at the royal estate at Windsor where he previously lived.

Jeffrey Epstein revealed in an email that he had secretly bankrolled Sarah Ferguson for 15 years.

The paedophile said that he began ‘financially supporting’ the former Duchess of York in 1996 – the year she divorced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

The email from the child sex predator to a friend has emerged in the latest cache of Epstein Files.

There seems to be a push for the Royal Family to ditch Sarah’s daughters as well.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Vehicles believed to be police cars arrived at the King’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, where the former prince has been staying, on Thursday morning.

The former prince has consistently and strenuously denied any wrongdoing.

KING Charles III should be growing up (he’s 77 years old) and moving on from his lonely youth and long, frustrating princeship. Instead, he’s repackaging his juvenile environmentalism as a wide-ranging philosophy.

Environmentalism has merits. But the King’s environmentalism has always been uneducated, egotistical, defiant, unresponsive and somewhat cuckoo.

It is difficult to fathom now, but Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was once a hugely popular figure. A fun-loving playboy who flew helicopters in anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare missions in the Falklands, he was indulged by the public and adored by his mother.

His marriage to Sarah Ferguson was watched by millions and, for all his raucous antics, Randy Andy – as he was affectionately dubbed then – was seen to have more charm and charisma than his serious-minded siblings.

The King was heckled by members of the public about his brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, during an official visit to Essex on Thursday.

One man was heard to ask whether the King had urged the police to investigate Andrew. Charles did not appear to hear the question, which was shouted during a walkabout with the Queen.

Another person was heard to ask whether the royal family would help with the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, the paedophile financier who was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell in 2019.

I don’t see an end to the Monarchy today.

When the King first tried to oust Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor from his Windsor home, it began a two-year battle described by one source as “the siege of Royal Lodge”.

On Monday night, after a two-year stand-off between the brothers — not to mention a few carefully timed trebuchets thrown by palace courtiers — the duke finally left his £30 million, 31-room mansion.

Andrew, 65, was driven to Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate, where he will stay while his more permanent home, the nearby Marsh Farm, is prepared.

The latest batch of documents from the Epstein files includes emails that could further damage his reputation.

Or perhaps his reputation is already at rock bottom and this will only reinforce existing negative impressions.
