A sightseeing pamphlet funded by Transport for London has claimed that the capital’s gardens and green spaces are filled with colourful colonial legacies and that many terms in botany, like “exotic”, are insulting and offensive.

The ‘Art on the Underground’ pamphlet guides visitors around the UK’s capital city through green spaces in Brixton and South London, focusing on the “colonial connotations” of British gardens and horticulture.

‘Markets going haywire’: Toronto residents can expect a hike in heating bill, fuel costs as global energy system struggles

Torontonians can expect to pay a premium on their energy bills this winter as prices for North American fuel, natural gas and coal reach heights not seen in years.

Dan McTeague, president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, projects that gasoline prices at Greater Toronto Area pumps will hit $1.50 per litre in the coming weeks, up 44 per cent from a year ago.

That would be the highest price point for auto fuel anywhere in Ontario since the summer of 2014, when a litre sold for $1.43.

Rainbow zebra crossings have spread like an unsightly rash across the world. When one first appeared in the town in which I live, opinion was divided. Well-meaning straight people enthused about ‘inclusivity’ while others harrumphed about ‘PC gone mad’. As for those who were supposed to be represented by the rainbow, most of us were somewhere between bemused and embarrassed – the overwhelming response was ‘why?’.

Socialist Twitch streamer accused of hypocrisy after alleged leak shows he made over $200k in ONE MONTH

A reported data leak from video streaming platform Twitch has gone viral, revealing among other things that socialist streamer Hasan Piker allegedly made over $200,000 in just one month.

An anonymous internet user leaked 125GB of alleged data from Twitch on Wednesday, containing source code from the service and user payout figures, among other information. Though the leak has not been officially confirmed by Twitch, video game news website VGC News cited an anonymous source at the company who reportedly verified the leak and its contents.

US man sues psychic who ‘promised to remove ex-girlfriend curse’

A California man is suing a psychic who he says falsely claimed she could remove a curse put on his marriage by a witch hired by his ex-girlfriend.

Mauro Restrepo said Sophia Adams promised she could save his marriage if he paid $5,100 (£3,742) to exorcise the spell, according to a fraud suit filed with the Torrance Superior Court.

Ms Adams allegedly told Mr Restrepo he and his family would be “unhappy and in danger” if the curse was not lifted.

New Zealand Mongrel Mob leader given essential worker exemption to help boost Covid tests

New Zealand’s prime minister Jacinda Ardern has endorsed granting a Mongrel Mob leader special exemption to cross Auckland’s border so he could help minimise Covid-19 spread in hard to reach communities.

The head of the Waikato Mongrel Mob chapter, Sonny Fatupaito, was given essential worker status, which enabled him to enter Auckland last weekend, while the city was under level three lockdown, with a border in place.
