The CRA spent $18M on ‘Charlie,’ a new tax information chatbot that is wrong most of the time

OTTAWA — The Canada Revenue Agency paid $18 million for a chatbot the auditor general says gave her team the wrong answer 66 per cent of the time.

In February 2020, then-National Revenue Minister Diane Lebouthillier proudly announced a new tool she promised would help taxpayers better navigate the labyrinth of Canada’s sprawling tax code: Charlie the Chatbot.

Tories accuse Liberal government of concealing Laith Marouf settlement details

OTTAWA — The Conservatives are accusing the Mark Carney Liberals of concealing details of a deal reached in efforts to recover over $122,000 in government money paid to an antisemitic “anti-racism” contractor.

In the summer of 2022, the Department of Heritage cancelled a $122,661 contract with Laith Marouf’s Community Media Advocacy Centre, money meant to further the government’s anti-racism agenda.

34 arrested, more than $2.7 million in drugs seized following months-long investigation

Police forces across the GTA have teamed up to shut down a street gang whose criminal tentacles reached well beyond the region.

Police in Durham Region say a nine-month-long investigation into drug trafficking and illegal firearms began in April 2025, targeting a gang that calls itself “44”. It’s alleged that members bragged about their illicit earnings in social media posts.

Epstein photo release shows Trump, Clinton and ex-Prince Andrew… as disturbing images expose pedophile’s sick private world

House Democrats have released over a dozen new photographs of billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein parading around with Donald Trump and Bill Clinton.

Democratic lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee unveiled 19 intimate photos from the estate of the disgraced financier.

The photos also depict graphic sex toys but it is unclear the location or dates of the images.

Not sure what this accomplished.
