Canadian navy reprimands officer accused of threatening to execute sailors

A Canadian naval officer who allegedly threatened to execute his crew has been docked pay and received a reprimand but most of the details of the incident still remain secret.

During the 2023 incident, the sailors on board Naval Replenishment Unit Motor Vessel Asterix were lined up in three rows at which point the officer allegedly told them he was going to have them shot for poor performance.

Stolen mail worth $400K recovered, 344 charges laid against the folks who make diversity our strength

Peel Regional Police, in collaboration with Halton Regional Police, have recovered more than 450 pieces of stolen mail, totalling a combined worth of more than $400,000 CAD.

In April 2025, Peel and Halton Police launched a joint investigation with Canada Post involving a series of mail thefts occurring throughout the Region of Peel. The investigation uncovered a group of individuals working together to target residential mailboxes, resulting in widespread theft and disruption to community members.

A transgender woman has been jailed for 21 months after lying about his biological sex to sleep with a man.

Ciara Watkin, 21, who identifies as a woman, spent the night with the man at a house in Thornaby, Teesside, after they met on the social media platform Snapchat.

Watkin performed sex acts on the man after demanding not to be touched below the waist. Watkin claimed to be menstruating.

Fake death threat letters from the Taliban are being used to dupe the Home Office in asylum applications for Afghan migrants.

A Telegraph investigation can reveal how corrupt officials in Afghanistan produce government letters threatening to kill asylum seekers. The letters are then used as evidence in asylum applications.

To demonstrate how easily such documents can be obtained, an undercover Telegraph reporter paid Taliban officials £40 to produce three fake letters from different regional offices on official headed paper, signed by local administrators.
