The controversial trans activist tearing her own community apart: Trans women say influencer Lilly Tino’s ‘rage-baiting’ posts are putting them at risk

Trans activist Lilly Contino has been condemned by trans women for putting the already marginalised community at risk of even greater ‘harm and malice’ by reinforcing negative stereotypes in ‘ragebait’ clips on TikTok.

The most recent controversy stemmed from a viral post that included mirror selfies of the 31-year-old as she ‘rated’ the women’s bathrooms at Disney World in Florida – and has spiralled into a call for Lilly to be ‘banned’ from TikTok and the amusement park.

A Change.org petition started by a ‘concerned parent’ has received over 500,000 signatures at the time of writing, as its creator urged the platform to ‘carefully evaluate Lilly Tino’s presence’ on it.

Who Will Own the ‘God Molecule’?

Psychedelics devotees are racing biotech entrepreneurs to turn 5-MeO-DMT into a pharmaceutical.

Beckley Park, a country estate in Oxfordshire, lies at the end of a narrow drive that winds through pastures and farmland, flanked, for the last several hundred feet, by squat concrete mushrooms. The house, an austere brick building with three gabled towers, partially encircled by the remnants of three ancient concentric moats, was built in the 16th century as a hunting lodge for British aristocrats. From the front, it resembles “a fairy-tale castle,” as House & Garden magazine once noted, but from the side it is curiously narrow, only one room deep, and looks as though it might topple over. Around it, enormous hedges and topiaries crowd together, towering over visitors’ heads in dreamlike forms: hallucinogenic spirals, a bear, a tilted top hat.

I arrived on a gloomy morning last June. The owner of the estate was Lady Amanda Feilding, a countess in her 80s, who was often described in the international press as “the hidden hand behind the psychedelic renaissance.” With an unusual devotion to LSD, she’d spent decades orchestrating the revival of legitimate psychedelic science. She was also notorious for her advocacy of trepanation, an ancient surgical procedure in which holes are drilled into one’s skull, once thought to release evil spirits and relieve pressure from brain swelling. In 1970, influenced by a Dutch lover who believed, dubiously, that such holes induce a permanent high, Feilding was filmed boring into her own forehead with a dentist’s drill while on acid, smiling exultantly as blood streamed down her face. She later ran for Parliament twice — in 1979 and 1983 — on the platform that trepanation be made freely available on the National Health Service.

This sounds like a fun trip.

Gavin Newsom Sipped Cabernet While Los Angeles Burned

As riots engulfed Los Angeles and mobs vandalized public buildings, incinerated vehicles, and assaulted law enforcement officers, California governor Gavin Newsom was enjoying a swanky wine-tasting party in Napa Valley.

The wine-tasting was held on the afternoon of June 7, 2025, at the Odette Estate Winery, which Newsom co-founded in 2011. Dubbed “Vineyard Vibes,” the event was a fundraiser for the PlumpJack Foundation, founded by Newsom’s sister, and featured “contemporary yet sophisticated” wines, live jazz music, and locally made pizza and smash burgers. “It’s the perfect kick-off to summer fun,” read promotional language. “The fete will take place on the Winery Crushpad, where we’ll gather for music, food, conversation, and delicious wine!”

Iran’s supreme leader mocked mercilessly after bizarre social media posts resurface

Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is being mocked mercilessly over a slew of bizarre social media posts that resurfaced as the Israel-Iran war broke out — including his musings about treating a woman right and even being “naughty & playful” as a school kid.

The odd posts — most of which are typed out in SMS-style abbreviations — date back at least a decade and are in stark contrast to the anti-Israel and war rhetoric that now fills the social media feed of the 86-year-old leader and most senior cleric in the extremist Islamic Republic.

CHARLEBOIS: The fall of artificial colours in food

This week, General Mills announced it will remove all artificial colours from its U.S. products, just hours after Kraft Heinz made a similar commitment. Both companies are giving themselves two years to complete the transition — a realistic timeline, given that reformulating food products can be as complex as redesigning a vehicle. It typically takes two to three years to test, approve and scale up new ingredients.

Foreign ministry criticizes CBC for changing Taiwan reference from country to ‘self-ruled island’

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday criticized CBC News for changing its description of Taiwan from a country to a “self-ruled island.”

On June 14, Canada’s largest news broadcaster posted an article on the alleged ties between Bliss and Wisdom, a Buddhist group with operations on Prince Edward Island, and the CCP. The piece originally described a high-ranking monk from Taiwan as traveling “between his home country, Prince Edward Island, and China” in 2023 at the invitation of a Buddhist group that reports to the United Front Work Department.

It’s A Mystery! Kingston prison’s supervised drug site has had just 1 visitor

More than a year-and-a-half after it opened, a site at a Kingston, Ont., prison where inmates can consume smuggled drugs under medical supervision has only had one user.

The overdose prevention service (OPS) at the Collins Bay Institution was set up as a place where prisoners could inject, snort or swallow substances, all with a nurse on standby.

It opened on Nov. 28, 2023, becoming the first of its kind in Ontario and only the third in Canada.

Privileged life of drunk and violent Southwest Airlines passenger who had meltdown over ‘fat’ seatmate

A woman who body-shamed, spat on, and pulled the hair of an innocent plane passenger during a drunken freak-out is a New York City artist who has worked with several high-end companies, Daily Mail can reveal.

Leanna Perry, 32, had an obnoxious meltdown onboard a Southwest Airlines plane at LaGuardia Airport in New York en route to Kansas City, Missouri, early Monday morning.

I must be old but dressing like a teenager at 32 is just embarrassing.
