Box of 861 votes went uncounted in B.C. election, other ballots unreported, officials say

VICTORIA — British Columbia’s election agency says it has discovered that a ballot box containing 861 votes wasn’t counted in the recent provincial election, as well as other mistakes, including 14 votes going unreported in a crucial riding narrowly won by the NDP.

Elections BC says omission of the ballot box did not affect the result in Prince George-Mackenzie, while the unreported votes in Surrey-Guildford were discovered last week during preparations for a judicial recount in the riding, where Garry Begg’s 27-vote victory propelled the New Democrats to a one-seat majority government.

Peel Police officer suspended, 3 charged after violence erupts at protest outside at Hindu Temple in Brampton

A Peel police officer has been suspended after the service says he participated in a Pro-Khalistani protest that saw violence erupt outside the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton on Sunday.

The incident, captured on video, unfolded outside the Hindu temple, at 9225 The Gore Road, on Sunday evening.

According to one of the temple’s pandits, Vasudev Joshi, the protest was held to address the presence of Indian Consular officials, who were invited by the temple in an effort to help senior members apply for pensions.

Trudeau and his cabinet should be jailed for life for what they have done to Canada. This is unforgivable.

Where should Canada look to improve its housing situation? The answer may shock you

Housing experts who have long promoted moving new home construction from suburbs to urban centres are calling for a similar approach to policy, saying several ideas currently percolating on the fringes of society in Canada have proven successful elsewhere and deserve a more central place in the national conversation.

They argue widespread adoption of government-supported affordable housing, the growth of alternative models like co-operatives and co-housing, and the increased use of advanced building techniques could all play a role in improving Canada’s housing system.

More communism is always the answer.
