US charges Hamas leaders some of whom are dead already, over 7 October attack on Israel

The US has charged Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and several other prominent figures in the Palestinian group in connection with its deadly attack in Israel on 7 October last year.

The justice department said it was indicting six Hamas members with seven charges, including the murder of dozens of US citizens, conspiracy to finance terrorism and use of weapons of mass destruction.

The criminal complaint covers decades of alleged attacks by Hamas, as well as last October’s unprecedented assault.

It is the first step by US law enforcement to hold accountable the ringleaders of that attack, but has been seen by analysts as partly symbolic, not least because some of those named in the indictment are already dead.

Most agents guarding Trump during assassination attempt were Homeland Security personnel who took ‘two-hour online webinar’: Sen. Hawley

Instead of having dozens of Secret Service agents on his detail for the July 13 rally, Trump was mostly guarded by Homeland Security agents who only received online webinar training before the event, Hawley (R-Mo.) said in an interview on “Jesse Watters Primetime” Tuesday evening.

“A two-hour, online webinar. And I’m told that half the time, the sounds to the webinar didn’t even work,” Hawley claimed.

This was allowed to “happen.”

The rise of ‘left-conservatism’

It’s not often that German regional elections capture the world’s attention, but establishment parties all across the West have good reason to be terrified by Sunday’s results. In the east German states of Thuringia and Saxony, the three ruling parties – the Social Democrats (SPD), Greens and Liberals – came under assault from both ends of the political spectrum. The right-populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) scored an historic victory in Thuringia, winning its first-ever state election. Just as striking was the success of another consciously populist party, the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW), which emerged from the rubble of the German left.

She preaches old school leftism. Pro-worker, anti-open borders/mass immigration and an avoidance of foreign entanglements.

The curious death of ‘Whaledimir’ the Russian spy whale

When a lone beluga whale began rubbing up against Norwegian fishing boats in April 2019, a few alarm bells should have started ringing – not just for conservationists, but also among the suits on the top floor at the headquarters of the Norwegian Intelligence Service in Lutvann.

First, the whale didn’t seem to have a pod. Toothed whales (which include beluga, dolphins and orca among other species) are not naturally solitary. They don’t roam the high seas alone. They are pack animals – social mammals that move in pods and can sense how another member of their group is feeling (not just physically, but emotionally) through echolocation. Spot one alone and that should be your first indication that something is up. Second, pod or not, he was a good deal further south of the high arctic than he should have been. Third, he appeared to be wearing a harness, which was causing him some distress – enough that he seemed to be approaching boats which would ordinarily scare belugas (white whales have a bloody history of being hunted) to try to get the harness off.

PBS: Conservative ‘Backlash’ Is Ruining DEI for ‘Trans Workers at Tractor Supply’

Taxpayer-supported PBS mourned success by conservatives on Wednesday’s News Hour in pushing back with consumer activism against the flagrantly dishonest “diversity-equity-inclusion” drives in corporate America. PBS used the term “conservative” six times, but never found an ideological label for the Left. They were “pro-DEI folks” pushing “diversity initiatives” for people like “trans workers at Tractor Supply.”

4 killed on train in Chicago-area appeared asleep before shootings, police say

Four people fatally shot on a commuter train in the Chicago area early Monday appeared to be attacked while asleep in their seats, police said.

The victims — whose names, ages, and genders have not been confirmed — appeared to be asleep and were seated apart from each other according to security footage, the Forest Park Police Department said.

“Random attack” say police.

Ontario school hid girl’s transition, called CAS on parents questioning trans identity

Julie’s life turned upside down after COVID hit. Barely ten, and physically isolated from much of the world, in early 2021 she installed TikTok and began spending hours online, falling down social media rabbit holes. She eventually “discovered the LGBTQ+ community” and started questioning her identity.

“At first, it was only my sexuality: pansexual, lesbian, maybe bi?” she later wrote in a personal essay. Eventually, videos asking viewers whether they were “anxious and uncomfortable” in their own bodies triggered her to question her gender identity.
