Christopher Dummitt: Conservatives are weird — because progressives have bastardized cultural norms

Desperate to try any tactic to dig them out of the hole they find themselves in, the Liberals appear to have looked south and borrowed the Democrats’ idea of calling conservatives “weird.”

The tactic might just work for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris and her party. There are, after all, more than enough fringe Republican elements to make this somewhat convincing, especially as a sop to the Democrats’ political base and to independents who find political shenanigans ludicrous in general.

Guy who won Women’s Olympic boxing medal sues everyone

The Paris public prosecutor’s office said Wednesday it will look into online bullying targeting Olympic boxing champion Imane Khelif during the Summer Games in the French capital.

The prosecutor’s office said it had received a legal complaint from the 25-year-old Algerian athlete over cyber abuse directed at her as she competed in the women’s welterweight competition.

US news magazine Variety reported that J.K. Rowling and Elon Musk were both named in the criminal complaint filed by Khelif over alleged “acts of aggravated cyber harassment.”

Ontario’s ‘unofficial estimate’ of homeless population is 234,000: documents

The government of Ontario estimates nearly a quarter of a million people — roughly three of every 200 residents — are homeless, according to information contained in a housing ministry document.

The number is about nine times higher than the auditor general’s most recent estimate, and still likely drastically undercounts the true number of people experiencing homelessness in the province, experts say.

Imagine a quarter of a million people marching on Ottawa with blood in their eyes.

Heaven forbid that is Trudeau’s wretched fate!

UK Schools To Teach Kids As Young as 5 How To Spot “Disinformation”

The plan has sparked concerns over who defines “fake news.”

Not content with its efforts to limit free speech on social media platforms, Britain’s new Labour government is also gearing schools up to “arm our children against … disinformation.”

After last week’s riots, prompted by the Southport stabbing, ministers will now include plans “to embed critical skills in lessons” in the next curriculum review, due next year. These will see pupils as young as five given what the government describes as the “knowledge and skills” to spot “disinformation” online.

Canadian military drones don’t like the cold & may spontaneously go AWOL to Florida RCAF report warns

Canadian military drones will face challenges operating in Arctic, RCAF report warns

Canada plans to build a facility for its new drones in the Arctic, but will face more than its share of challenges in operating the aircraft in the far north, air force documents show.

The Liberal government announced on Dec. 19 that Canada would buy 11 of the remotely piloted aircraft from a U.S. company for $2.5 billion.

The new drones will be stationed at 14 Wing Greenwood, N.S., and 19 Wing Comox, B.C.

Did no one think to ask when they were kicking the tires?
