Pro-Palestinian protesters at McGill University have ended their hunger strike after 76 days, having failed to persuade the university to cut ties with Israeli-linked institutions.
The group, dubbed the McGill Hunger Strikers, began their strike in February, relying on nutritional broth to demand that the university sever ties with Israel-linked companies and universities amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.
A group of teens forced a woman to miscarry with a brutal attack after she and her husband dared to stray onto a Chicago street that the youths claimed as their own.
The 41-year-old mother was returning home with her husband from a date night on Friday when they were surrounded by at least 10 young people in the city’s notorious Streeterville neighborhood.

German authorities say they believe there was an Islamist motive behind a knife attack at an anti-Islam rally in the southwestern German city of Mannheim on Friday during which a police officer was killed.
The federal prosecutor, Germany’s highest prosecuting authority with responsibility for terrorism, espionage and international criminal law, is taking on the case due to its “particular importance,” a spokeswoman said.
She said the suspected attacker, a 25-year-old Afghan national and nine-year German resident who was shot by police and remains in the hospital, is suspected to have wanted to prevent critics of Islam from exercising their right to freedom of expression.
Ontario expects to land another EV battery plant
Ontario expects to land another major electric vehicle battery plant, its economy minister said, as Canada’s most populous province tries to capitalize on what it views as a short-lived opportunity to secure the future of its auto sector.
It has already lured commitments for major plants from Stellantis NV, Volkswagen AG and Honda Motor Co., with the help of promises of billions of dollars from government. Ontario has its eyes on three more prospects and is confident it will land at least one, said Vic Fedeli, its minister of economic development and trade.
