Published by the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF), the mini-documentary shines a light on the inclusion of long-deceased Michigan residents as active voters on the state’s voter registration lists. As shown in the video, some of these individuals have remained on the lists despite dying decades prior.

Most criminal investigators tasked with hunting down crimes at Canada’s ports and borders in recent years have lacked basic training, says a newly released audit report from the Canada Border Services Agency.
The report, posted on the CBSA website late last week, lands just as border officials, politicians, police and industry representatives meet today in Ottawa to discuss plans to tackle the rising number of car thefts over the past two years. The border agency’s ability to catch stolen cars before they’re shipped overseas is expected to be one of the main topics of discussion.
A drag queen workshop for children as young as 11 in France has sparked a petition for its cancellation signed by more than 1,000 parents.

OTTAWA—A group of Black anti-racism activists were dropped from a meeting at the Supreme Court of Canada because of concerns over their online posts about the Israel-Palestine conflict.
The researchers and advocates who were working with the Michaëlle Jean Foundation say they were “disinvited” from a Jan. 15 presentation about an anti-Black racism project after Chantal Carbonneau, the top court’s registrar, told the former governor general the court was concerned about pro-Palestinian “tweets, likes and comments” on their social media that had made law clerks feel “unsafe” and harmed their mental health.

Two of four men charged with conspiracy to commit murder during the 2022 blockade at the Canada-U. S. border crossing near Coutts, Alta., have pleaded guilty to lesser charges.
Jerry Morin and Christopher Lysak entered the pleas in a Lethbridge courtroom Tuesday morning.
The Alberta Court of King’s Bench confirmed the pleas in an e-mailed statement.
