Philadelphia reaches $9.25M settlement with demonstrators over police tactics in 2020 protests

On Monday, the city of Philadelphia agreed to pay $9.25 million to over 200 rioters who claimed to have been injured by police during the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020.

As reported by Fox News, the settlement was announced by the law firm Mincey Fitzpatrick Ross, LLC, which represented the 237 activists who participated in the riots between May 31st and June 1st, 2020, following the fentanyl overdose death of George Floyd.

A billionaire Texan property tycoon linked to the Duchess of York has been accused of financing a sex-trafficking ring in the US.

Trammell Crow Jr, who Sarah Ferguson has reportedly struck up a friendship with, has been named in a lawsuit by two women who claim he financed a sex and labour trafficking venture.

Mr Crow, 72, a property magnate and environmental philanthropist, met with the Duchess on his ranch near Austin, Texas earlier this year according to The Sun.

An influential US medical panel is warning about the dangers of a rapidly spreading deadly fungus — just a week after the hit zombie show The Last of Us wrapped up.

The American College of Physicians (ACAP) said the rise and spread of antibiotic-resistant cases of Candida auris, also known as C auris, is ‘particularly concerning’.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) already described the fungus, which kills up to 60 percent of people it infects, as an ‘urgent threat’ in 2019.

Today, at 4:30 Pacific Time, a group calling itself Mask Bloc will gather in the courthouse square in Portland, Oregon dressed in black, with masks, to mourn the official end of mask requirements in healthcare settings in Oregon.

Mask Bloc’s tweets are now protected, but the gathering invited protesters to “”Wear funeral black, wear your mask, bring signs” to lament “the end of infection control in OR”. It’s billed as a “funeral” for “public health”.

The mayor of Miami Beach wants to cancel Spring Break as footage emerged of the moment a man was shot dead on a sidewalk during another wild weekend of partying.

‘We haven’t asked for spring break in our city. We don’t want spring break in our city. It’s too rowdy, brings too much disorder and is simply too difficult to police,’ said Democratic mayor Dan Gelber.

The chaotic weekend saw two men shot dead and partygoers jumping on a car, brawling in streets and even trashing a slushie shop on the main drag despite the city instituting a curfew on Sunday night.

A New Jersey mother is suing after she was allegedly reported by a high-ranking U.S. military official as a safety concern for complaining about sexually charged posters at her children’s elementary school.

Angela Reading, a mother of two who served as a member of the Northern Burlington Board of Education, made headlines in December after Lt. Col. Christopher Schilling of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst reportedly flagged her post to local police when she alerted parents in a local Facebook group about posters promoting polysexuality at the entrance of her 7-year-old’s school.
