Animal activists spark fury after demanding Pork Pie Island is renamed Vegan Pie Roundabout

Vegan activists have called for the city of Leicester to rename a traffic roundabout called Pork Pie Island to ‘Vegan Pie Roundabout’.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) suggested the controversial move in a letter to Leicester’s Mayor Sir Peter Soulsby, saying that the island should be rebranded to help promote healthier food choices.

Pork Pie Island was named by locals to match a 1930s library which sits adjacent to the roundabout. The library has a series of round sections surrounding its main building that slightly resembles a pork pie when looking at it from a bird’s-eye view.

A vegan-hating New York man was arrested Tuesday morning after he allegedly made a series of death threats against an upstate fruit festival – which included telling an organizer that he would ‘do a f–king Ted Bundy’ to her unless she called off the event.

William Swift, 32, of Brooklyn, appeared in Brooklyn federal court today where he was charged with menacing organizers and attendees of the festival which is described as a ‘vegan health retreat’ and ‘an all-out celebration of health, fruit-based diet and personal growth.’

Swift apparently split from the vegan lifestyle and community, ranting against veganism and fruitarianism on his Instagram page.

WHO stresses monkeypox surge not linked to monkeys after simians attacked

The World Health Organization has stressed that monkeypox outbreaks are not linked to monkeys, following a number of reported attacks on the primates in Brazil.

“What people need to know is that the transmission we are seeing is happening between humans,” a WHO spokesperson, Margaret Harris, told reporters in Geneva on Tuesday.

She said the primates could not be blamed for the surge in monkeypox cases in Brazil after reports in a number of cities of physical attacks on and poisonings of monkeys.

California high school teacher who pledged allegiance to ANTIFA and said he wanted to turn students into ‘revolutionaries’ is given THREE YEARS’ pay to resign

A California teacher who displayed an Antifa flag in his classroom and said he wanted to turn his students into ‘revolutionaries’ is receiving three years of salary in exchange for his resignation.

Parents at Inderkum High School in Sacramento had called on the district to fire AP Government teacher Gabriel Gipe after he was caught on video in September discussing the flag with Project Veritas, a far-right media group.

‘I have an Antifa flag on my [classroom] wall and a student complained about that — he said it made him feel uncomfortable. Well, this [Antifa flag] is meant to make fascists feel uncomfortable, so if you feel uncomfortable, I don’t really know what to tell you,’ Gipe said.

The Poilievre divide: Ontario MP preferred leader for Conservatives but not Canadians … Huh?

OTTAWA — Ontario MP Pierre Poilievre remains the heavy favourite to be the next Conservative party leader but he trails opponent Jean Charest for support among Canadians as a whole.

A new Leger poll conducted in collaboration with the Association for Canadian Studies suggests 44 per cent of Conservative voters believe Poilievre would make the best party leader. His chief rival, former Quebec premier Jean Charest, is backed by 17 per cent.

These Poilievre hit pieces are getting a little more subtle.

Maxime Bernier: Canada’s Conservative Party has been ‘infiltrated’ by ‘globalist and woke far left’

Leader of the People’s Party of Canada Maxime Bernier said the Conservative Party of Canada is “infiltrated” by the “woke far left,” after blasting the party’s President for using so-called “trans-inclusive” pronouns in his Twitter bio.

“This woke guy with pronouns in his bio is the president of the Conservative Party of Canada. Still wondering why I left this morally and intellectually corrupt party?,” tweeted Bernier yesterday.

The president of the CPC Rob Batherson’s Twitter bio reads, “Business person, community volunteer, husband, father, son (he/him).”

Well that’s settles it not voting the CPC next election.

Pictures of torn-up paper notes in Trump’s toilets emerge in WH correspondent Maggie Haberman’s book after he denied flushing Oval Office docs: Donald says pics are ‘fabricated’

Images allegedly depicting Donald Trump’s toilets clogged with torn-up pieces of paper have emerged after the former president denied claims he would flush official documents during his time in the White House.

Maggie Haberman, a New York Times White House correspondent who closely followed Trump during his presidency for an upcoming book, claimed to have obtained pictures of presidential notes stuffed into the residence toilets from a former White House official who worked under the previous administration.

Toiletgate. The media should be able to run with this for a minimum of 6 mos.
