Don Cherry ‘Disappointed’ By Ron MacLean’s Remarks on Health, Hockey Night in Canada Departure

Don Cherry says his 2019 exit from Hockey Night in Canada was not a planned “exit strategy” due to ill health, despite recent comments made by former long-time co-anchor Ron MacLean.

The now 91-year-old former co-host of Coach’s Corner said he was caught off guard by MacLean’s recent comments to the Kingston Whig Standard, which suggested that Cherry made a politically incorrect comment because he was battling pneumonia and no longer had the energy to do the show.

Poilievre categorically rejects Western independence

Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre has rejected the notion of Alberta independence, and instead suggests forming alliances with other provinces to overhaul Ottawa’s oppressive system.

He acknowledged Alberta has been “under relentless attack” for decades, with the province paying more than it receives into Ottawa’s equalization fund, and enduring federal anti-oil and anti-gun laws.

Spanish voters are embracing remigration

Spain has long lagged behind its neighbours when it comes to Europe’s Right-wing populist shift, but that may be about to change. New polling has Right-wing party Vox rising to 18.9% of the vote — a gain of 5.7 percentage points since last month. It is no coincidence that, earlier this month, Vox vowed to deport eight million foreigners from Spain should it win the next election. This tougher stance echoes the embrace of “remigration” policies by parties such as Germany’s AfD, marking a sharp shift in Spain’s debate over immigration.

Soldiers accused in alleged militia plot had limited access to army bases, equipment

The soldiers charged in connection with an alleged terrorist conspiracy had been under restrictions that limited their access to army bases and equipment, and none of the weapons, ammunition or explosives in their alleged arsenal originated from the Canadian military, the Department of National Defence (DND) says.

The statement from the DND on Monday morning did not say where those items, which were seized as part of the RCMP-led investigation that led to four arrests last week, came from.

The Rise of the Islamo-Nazi Left in America

Recently, Ken Martin, chair of the Democrat National Committee, said this about New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani’s refusal to condemn the phrase “globalize the intifada”: “We win by bringing people into [our] coalition.  And, at the end of the day, for me, that’s the type of party we’re going to lead.  We are a big tent party.”  Astute observers will note that Mr. Martin himself — though admitting he does not “agree 100% of the time” with other Democrats — fails to denounce the intifada, which is “a violent act of opposition by the Palestinian people to the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza strip.”

Guardian: British Muslims the Real Victims of 7/7

The real reason England is in “a dangerous place.”

A week ago Britain commemorated the 20th anniversary of the notorious 7/7 suicide bombings in London, carried out by four jihadists, who murdered 52 commuters and wounded over 700. I recently reviewed the new Netflix docuseries Attack on London, which revisited the attacks and the subsequent investigations; I also reported on Islamophilic Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s official statement decrying “those who try to divide us” but whitewashing the bombers’ religious motivation; indeed, by “those who try to divide us,” Starmer could just as easily be referring not to the terrorists but to the UK patriots who have the nerve to protest the mass Muslim migration that is erasing British identity and breaking down British society. After all, the authorities there pursue “Islamophobic” tweets today as vigorously as they investigated the bombings 20 years ago.

Even with cuts, Carney’s spending is still off the charts

A series of leaked letters sent out by the Prime Minister’s Office indicate that Prime Minister Mark Carney is seeking to slash government spending by 15 per cent over the next three years. If the targets are met, this could work out to about $25 billion in savings per year.

The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, for one, said that these would represent the “worst cuts to the public service in modern history,” and would “rival” the aggressive reductions to government spending that Canada undertook in the 1990s.

Syrian Yute goes on trial over alleged role in Taylor Swift concert bomb plot

A Syrian teenager has gone on trial in Berlin accused of involvement in an Islamic State-inspired plot to attack a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna last summer.

The case brought by federal prosecutors against the 15-year-old defendant, identified only as Mohammad A in keeping with German privacy rules, includes charges of preparing a “severe subversive act of violence” and supporting a terrorist organisation abroad.

He is accused of translating a video on bomb-building from Arabic and sending it to a then 19-year-old man, named as Beran A, who was allegedly behind the plot in Austria. Mohammad A is also alleged to have helped to establish contact with a member of Islamic State.

Learning To Love Being an ‘Extremist’

Have you just read a new report from the EU’s NGO complex, which claims to reveal a growing influence of “anti-gender” and “anti-feminist” groups aiming to “dismantle decades of hard-won sexual and reproductive rights across Europe”? Are you, as a result, wallowing in self-hatred to learn that you’ve become a jackboot-donning extremist? If so, fear not! Here are five easy steps to stay sane when EU technocrats are telling you the sky is falling and it’s all your fault.

Poilievre calls on Carney to explain financial ‘falsehoods,’ sell conflict holdings

Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre on Monday morning rebuked Prime Minister Mark Carney for misleading Canadians about his vast financial holdings.

Carney has submitted to ethics screening over at least 80 conflicts of interest from his more than 600 investments. More than 95% of those holdings are based in the US, and many contradict his green agenda.

The Canadians Are Furious

Trump accomplished what was once considered impossible: Our northern neighbors have united against us.

In May, I reoriented my algorithms to flood me with Canadian content, turned on push notifications from The Globe and Mail, and temporarily moved my family north of the border.

For months, Donald Trump had been casually threatening to annex Canada and turn it into a state, adding insult to the injury of the trade war he was waging on the country. One prime minister resigned amid Trump’s bullying, and another was elected because voters thought he could stand up to him. In the ordinarily placid provinces, feelings of bewilderment, anxiety, and offense hardened into a defiant resolve against the United States. “Elbows up,” went the nation’s new hockey-inspired mantra. As a Montreal journalist told me, Americans were preoccupied with “12 different crises.” In Canada, this was the crisis.

Will John Brennan Ever Tell the Truth?

John Brennan spent years lying to Congress, the press, and the public—yet now claims he’s “clueless” about a DOJ investigation. He’s only clueless about how not to lie.

When asked why the current Department of Justice might be investigating him, former CIA Director John Brennan answered, as was his wont, with a complete lie: “I am clueless about what it is exactly that they may be investigating me for.”

Clueless? Hardly. Brennan knows full well that his fingerprints are on some of the greatest scandals of the last decade. These machinations have threatened the very integrity of our institutions and elections.

Howard Anglin: Canada is badly failing the ‘Tebbit Test’

The name Norman Tebbit won’t mean much to most Canadians but for those of a certain age who followed British politics in the 1980s, the news of his death last week was an occasion for rejoicing or regret, and not much in between. Tebbit, whom Labour leader Michael Foot famously branded “a semi-house-trained polecat,” was not a man for half measures and his demise will leave few people on the fence about his legacy.
