WENZEL: The worst housing minister in Canadian history

‘First he broke Vancouver, now he’s the Liberal housing minister for all of Canada.’

When Prime Minister Mark Carney appointed Gregor Robertson as Canada’s new Minister of Housing, Infrastructure, and Communities, the reaction from us in the homebuilding industry ranged from stunned disbelief to resigned frustration.

It was already clear that the federal government was floundering on a housing strategy that was created by incompetence, but this appointment sent an unmistakable signal that they’re doubling down on ideology over experience and on image over substance.

Lights Out, Europe: The Cost of Brussels’ Energy Fantasy

Spain’s leading energy companies—Iberdrola, Endesa, and EDP—remain stunned. After the nationwide blackout that cut power across Spain on April 28, the government has yet to provide a clear explanation or take technical responsibility. The companies, represented by the employers’ association Aelec, have denounced “surprising omissions” in the official investigation. They demand that the extreme voltage spikes recorded in the days leading up to the collapse be included in the analysis. They have criticized the preliminary report from ENTSO-E—the European network of electricity operators—for claiming that “the system was operating normally” just seconds before the failure. Meanwhile, severe voltage swings were recorded, going beyond safety limits and triggering automatic shutdowns of high-voltage substations and key refineries.

The Western Media’s Role in Genocide, Assassinations, and the Near Destruction of the U.S.

As I see it, there were three big stories this week: the media’s pretense that it was ignorant of Biden’s infirmities when it mattered; the cold-blooded assassination in D.C. of two young employees of the Israeli embassy, and the president’s refusal to join in the whitewashing of the genocide in South Africa. Examination of the details of these events reveals beyond the possibility of doubt that the mainstream press here and abroad is guided by anti-truth, antisemitic, anti-white, and anti-Western civilization animus. The press deserves a harsh reckoning: ignore them, drive down circulation and views, expose their lies and agenda.

5 Years After George Floyd’s Murder, the Backlash Takes Hold

George Floyd Mural Collapsed Under Weight Of BLM Bullshit

Black Lives Matter Plaza is gone from Washington, D.C. The bold yellow letters that once protested police violence are now paved over, though police killings nationally are actually up.

The Justice Department has abandoned oversight agreements for police forces accused of racial bias, even as it begins an investigation of Chicago after the city’s Black mayor praised the number of Black people in top city jobs. The U.S. refugee resettlement program is effectively shut down, but white South Africans have been granted an exception.

Sunday is the fifth anniversary of George Floyd’s murder by a Minneapolis police officer, a searing moment of brutality that ignited what may have been the largest social movement in U.S. history. Five years later, the movement that his death helped begin may feel like it’s in reverse.

“The Black Lives Matter movement, kicked into high gear after Mr. Floyd’s murder on May 25, 2020, has given way to the politics of “white grievance” championed by President Trump.”

“Backlash”? “White grievance”? He misspelled “Black Fatigue”

The migrants who choose to self-deport from America

A growing number of people are leaving voluntarily rather than wait to be thrown out in President Trump’s crackdown — or risk prison in El Salvador

For Alexandra Hernández the American dream lasted less than four months.

The Venezuelan crossed the US southern border on January 18 and applied for humanitarian protection using a legal route provided by the Biden administration.

Her asylum hearing was scheduled for 2026 and she settled in Denver, hoping to work as a cleaner. But soon the news on Spanish-language social media started to frighten her. Two days after she entered the country, President Trump took office again. He announced executive orders targeting America’s millions of undocumented migrants.

Is astrology part of Gen Z’s spiritual revival?

A remarkable 30% of Americans consult astrology, tarot cards, or fortune tellers, a new US poll has revealed. Particularly striking is the finding that, among women between the ages of 18 and 59, 43% say they believe in astrology. Star signs have become culturally ubiquitous in recent years, partly thanks to technology: the app Co-Star, which uses AI to combine NASA data with the predictions of “professional astrologers”, now has over 30 million global users.

Parliament receives ignorant petition demanding federal apology for transatlantic slave trade

A petition calling on the federal government to formally apologize for the transatlantic slave trade has been filed as the opening petition of the 45th Parliament. New Democrat MP Gord Johns (Courtenay-Alberni, BC) sponsored the petition without providing additional commentary, reports Blacklock’s Reporter.

Petition E-6484 states that “Black Canadians have endured centuries of systemic racism beginning with transatlantic slavery followed by legalized segregation and ongoing institutional discrimination in policing, education, employment, housing, healthcare, and the justice system.” The document notes that “the Government of Canada has yet to formally apologize.”

White men ‘in pit of worry’ over doing or saying wrong thing at work

“No whites” Birmingham UK

Being white and male can be a career disaster, a new podcast claims, with young men most anxious — but is it pushing them towards the likes of Reform and Andrew Tate?

Almost a quarter of white men say they are discriminated against for their race and gender, according to a poll, amid warnings it is pushing them towards influencers such as Andrew Tate.
Research commissioned for White Men Can’t Work!, a five-part podcast and YouTube series hosted by the documentary maker Tim Samuels, suggested that nearly half of white men in the UK are self-censoring at work because they fear that saying the wrong thing could cost them their jobs. Some 41 per cent say they feel anxious that they can be sacked for doing or saying the wrong thing.

The Silent Jihadi Genocide Against Christians in Nigeria

Leah Sharibu, a Nigerian Christian, was abducted alongside more than 100 other schoolgirls in Yobe State by Islamic terrorists seven years ago. She has not been released because she refuses to renounce her Christian faith and convert to Islam. On May 14, 2025, Leah turned 22 years old—the eighth birthday she spent in captivity. The last time her mother, Rebecca, saw her, Leah was only 14.

Thousands of other Christians have since been abducted or massacred by Muslims as the jihadist genocide against Christians proceeds at full tilt in Nigeria.

Aviva Klompas: Canada, don’t pretend you didn’t see the Israeli Embassy staffer shootings coming

Do we want to be a nation where violent rhetoric is dismissed as ‘activism’?

Two Israeli Embassy staffers — Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim — were shot in cold blood outside a Jewish event at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. The killer reportedly shouted “Free Palestine” and declared, “I did this for Gaza” before firing again and again at close range.

This wasn’t random violence. It was the predictable result of a culture that has normalized antisemitism, cloaked Jew-hatred in the language of justice, and dismissed every warning as an overreaction.

Don’t blame rank and file Canadians.

No one asked me or anyone I know if we’d like to import a murder cult like Islam.

Every single federal government this benighted nation has had since 911 has insisted on blighting our nation with Islam.

We proles are now perversely asked to protect Jews from the Islamist murder cultists our betters thoughtlessly invited here.

A war was declared against us and we just didn’t know it.

Update: The author is lecturing us about our response to a problem she helped create.

“Klompas worked as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Ontario government supporting efforts to resettle Syrian refugees in Canada.”

King Charles to open Canada’s Parliament amid Trump’s 51st state talk

TORONTO — The last time Canada’s monarch opened a session of Parliament was in 1977, when Queen Elizabeth II visited the country as part of her Silver Jubilee tour. On Tuesday, King Charles III will become only the second monarch in Canada’s history to participate in the historic ritual. From a walnut throne adorned with a spray of gold maple leaves, Charles, who is Canada’s head of state, will deliver the Speech from the Throne.

His presence, at Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney’s invitation, is widely viewed as sending a subtle message of resistance to a certain non-Canadian with a fondness for the British royal family: President Donald Trump.

The WAPO is on Canada’s side!

Can We Send Her Back to Russia? Brittney Griner’s Outburst Was Ridiculous

Brittney Griner – this guy’s a racist

The WNBA is getting attention, but for all the wrong reasons. Caitlin Clark continues to shine, which has increased exposure to the league (I still can’t watch it); Barstool Sports’ Dave Portney sits courtside at some games. Clark’s improving visibility infuriates the ‘woke’ Left, who want a person of color leading the way because…of course, right?

Globe & Mail Jumps Shark With Insane TDS Screed: “The real goal of Trump’s mass detention centres? Unlimited power”

Donald Trump ran in 2024 promising “Mass Deportations Now,” a rallying cry that his base responded to enthusiastically. Since his second inauguration, he has made immigration policy the centrepiece of his administration. As a result, the U.S. is acting outside the existing legal process to arbitrarily deport U.S. residents to places like Panama and El Salvador, where they face severe conditions and from which there may be no release. Reports of plans for similar deportations to Rwanda and Libya raise the question of what exactly is happening and where these detention policies might lead.

Based on the words coming out of Mr. Trump’s mouth and my research into the history of mass civilian detention around the world, what he and those who help shape his policies want is unlimited power. If they can establish rendition and arbitrary overseas detention for one group – for example, those who are declared to be Tren de Aragua or MS-13 gang members – history shows that they will likely expand the categories of people they can subject to the same treatment. The administration has already declared its interest in subjecting U.S. citizens to detention in El Salvador.

‘Hide Jewish symbols’: Israel warns of travel to Canada

‘Hide Jewish symbols’: Anti-Israel protests spark NSC warning to Israelis in Canada

The Israeli National Security Council (NSC) has raised the travel alert level for Canada from Level 1 to Level 2, warning of a growing security threat to Israelis and Jews in the country. The decision comes in light of a series of recent incidents targeting Jewish institutions and individuals, as well as an increasingly hostile public atmosphere.
