Arrests Made in Project Lighthouse, First-of-its-Kind SMS Blaster Investigation in Canada
The Toronto Police Service has made arrests in a first-of-its-kind investigation, dubbed Project Lighthouse, into the use of a mobile “SMS blaster” — a sophisticated cybercrime tool not previously detected in Canada.
This investigation marks the first known instance of this technology being deployed in Canada and highlights an emerging threat to both public safety and financial security.
“This is a new and emerging threat in Canada — one that uses advanced technology to reach thousands of people at once and exploit their trust,” said Deputy Chief Robert Johnson. “As the first investigation of its kind in this country, it reflects how the Toronto Police Service is adapting quickly to detect and disrupt complex cyber-enabled crime. I’m proud of the work done by our Coordinated Cyber Centre and grateful to our policing and industry partners who helped bring this investigation forward.”
Pope Leo: Between Gospel Witness and Humanitarian Illusions
For a long time, progressive Christians have tended to equate the faith with humanitarian illusions—with utopian sentimentality rather than a morally demanding politics of prudence rooted in right reason and natural law. Divine caritas has been displaced by a selective, highly politicized compassion, and the Christian affirmation of moral equality has transformed into a doctrinaire egalitarianism, at once naive and aggressive. Inequality per se is now treated as a grave moral fault, as if the comprehensive leveling of the social order were either possible or desirable.
Ford government passes budget that lets premier and ministers keep office records secret
The Ford government has passed a spring budget that includes provisions to let the premier and his cabinet ministers keep all their office records secret.
The spring budget changes Freedom of Information laws retroactively as well, meaning Ontario Premier Doug Ford would no longer have to comply with a court order to release his cellphone records.
The government used its majority to fast-track the bill and skip public hearings.
Europe’s Two-State Delusion: Repeating Failure, Ignoring Facts
While Israel, nearly three years later, is still reeling from the aftermath of the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led invasion as well as defending itself from the Iranian regime and its terror proxies, European leaders are once again indulging in their dangerous fantasy of resurrecting the so-called two-state solution.
At a recent gathering in Brussels attended by more than 60 countries and several international organizations under the banner of the “Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution,” the European Union reaffirmed its support for the “two-state solution” — a formula that means establishing a Palestinian state — which has not the slightest intention of cohabiting with Israel — right at Israel’s doorstep.
Teen guilty of conspiring ‘to murder as many Jewish persons as possible’ in unusual trial
A 17-year-old has been found guilty of conspiring to murder Jews in Ottawa, among other domestic terrorism charges, after an unusual one-day trial that preserves his rights to appeal.
The teen — inspired by ISIS and an unknown person who went by “Klm” and “Gh D” online — was planning to commit an attack sometime around Christmas 2023 using three pressure-cooker bombs, according to a 50-page agreed statement of facts filed in Superior Court by federal Crown prosecutors Wednesday.
He planned to pack the bombs with thousands of 6.35 mm steel ball bearings “to maximize the death and injury caused by each,” and to strap one of the bombs to himself to detonate at the end of his attack, the statement of facts reads.
Unusual cuz it resulted in conviction?
STUDY: TV Journalists Have Cited the Discredited SPLC Hundreds of Times
The April 21 indictment against the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) doesn’t just threaten a major organ of the left’s lawfare machine; it also puts in jeopardy one of the corporate news media’s favorite sources of activist data.
For decades, but particularly since the first Trump administration, the SPLC has enjoyed a perverse symbiotic relationship with the left-wing press. Their absurd “hate group” designations provided the media with ammunition against their right-wing targets, and the media in turn held up the SPLC as the gold standard of analysis and objectivity.
Canadian media frequently cites the SPLC along with other left wing extremist hate groups that use the same rent seeking business model.
They profit by crafting smears-to-order against opponents of Liberal-Left governments.
Ottawa has boosted monitoring of Iran’s threats to diaspora in Canada, official says
OTTAWA – A senior executive with Public Safety Canada says federal officials have ramped up their monitoring of Tehran’s threats against members of the Iranian diaspora in Canada.
Sébastien Aubertin-Giguère, who oversees Canada’s response to foreign interference, says Iran and other countries have intensified their pressure tactics targeting their critics abroad.
Given the Islamist make-up of the LPC the fox is guarding the hen house.
Iran Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei’s face is so disfigured, he’ll need plastic surgery
WASHINGTON — Iran Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei hasn’t released an audio or video message since assuming power because his face was badly burned in Israeli airstrikes on Feb, 28, according to a report — as President Trump says peace talks are inhibited by a lack of clear leadership in Tehran.
Khamenei, 56, “does not want to appear vulnerable or sound weak,” four Iranian officials told the New York Times, adding that one of the ayatollah’s legs has been “operated on three times, and he is awaiting a prosthetic,” while he also has had surgery on one of his hands.
Sixfold increase in extortion cases in Canada so far this year: FINTRAC
OTTAWA — Canada’s financial intelligence agency will report Thursday that extortion is soaring, with a growing number of those crimes committed against Canadians of Indian or south Asian descent by criminal organizations with direct ties to that region.
In a new report obtained by National Post, the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) said extortion cases have increased more than sixfold over the first four months of 2026. The agency’s report said it has already logged more extortion cases so far this year than the previous two years combined, part of a dramatic increase in financial crimes in Canada over the last few years.
Obama’s ‘Dreamer’ Fairy Tale Just Just Got Torched
Last year, on the 13th anniversary of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, an unconstitutional program he had conjured into existence by executive fiat, Barack Obama was singing its praises.
“DACA was an example of how we can be a nation of immigrants and a nation of laws,” Obama said. “And it’s an example worth remembering today, when families with similar backgrounds who just want to live, work, and support their communities, are being demonized and treated as enemies.”
And it’s all a lie.

Spread the word: Protests against Bill C-9 taking place across Canada on May 1
We’re entering a critical stretch in the fight against the Liberal government’s anti-religion Bill C-9.
This legislation directly threatens our fundamental freedoms of expression and religion, including the ability of Christians to live out their beliefs without fear of government prosecution.
Certain Bible passages will be effectively banned as “hate speech” if C-9 passes in the Senate.
Carney is making annexation more attractive by the day.
I hope the US accepts us as political refugees.

St. George‘s Day: Starmer Lashes Out at ‘Plastic Patriots‘ on National Day
The Prime Minister paradoxically used the feast day of England’s patron saint to simultaneously insist “unity” is key while ranting about Englishmen he feels betray the multicultural project.
Thursday is Saint George’s Day, a feast commemorating the day of the execution of the warrior saint and Christian martyr who through ancient Royal involvement in the Crusades and veneration of his example latterly became the national day of England. The St. George’s Cross and banner also became the symbol and later of England, albeit by a slightly different route as a maritime flag of convenience.
LILLEY: CBC isn’t telling you the truth on trade talks with USA
The headline from the CBC made it sound like the Trump administration was engaged in a street-level shakedown of their closest ally and neighbour.
“Washington demanding ‘entry fee’ from Ottawa before trade talks: sources,” CBC’s headline read.
There Is Simply Too Much Schadenfreude in This New York Times Profile of Former USAID Workers
I am 100% for sure going to hell for enjoying this New York Times article as much as I am. There but for the grace of God go I, I remind myself. But then, I would never have put myself in that position, devoting my professional life to making six figures off the taxpayer to work on “nice-to-haves” rather than creating actual, useful products that must survive in the marketplace.
Anyhoo, the article that is bringing me so much guilty pleasure is entitled “A Year After U.S.A.I.D.’s Death, Fired Workers Find Few Jobs and Much Loss.” The subtitle tells the tale: “People have plowed through savings, cashed out retirement funds and moved in with relatives. Former U.S.A.I.D. workers estimate that less than half have found full-time work.” Why, it’s almost as if no one would hire them to ply their trade, so they must force taxpayers to subsidize it.
