Canadian election: Whose side is Trump on?

For our readers who don’t live in the People’s Republic of Canuckistan, here’s a quick guide to what’s happening in the general election, set for April 28th.

On the left in the photos below — but not so hard left as his loony colleagues Steven Guilbeault and Chrystia Freeland — is Mark Carney, leader of the Gliberal Party of Canada.Unlike the other two, Mr Carnage has never been elected to anything. But was Governor of the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England. He is a banker, and a member of the WEF liberal elite.

Racial Grievance Theater Is About Humiliation, Not History

The White House on March 27 issued an executive order on “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History,” which prohibits public expenditure on any Smithsonian Institution exhibits or programs that attack core American values or “divide Americans based on race.” The interior secretary will also investigate whether any public monuments, memorials, or properties have been removed or altered to advance racialist ideology.

It is astonishing – and reprehensible – that Paul Chiang remains a Liberal candidate

On Monday morning, Liberal Leader Mark Carney said he had “confidence” in his candidate who, in January, called for his Conservative opponent to be turned over to the Chinese consulate in order to receive a bounty.

Mr. Carney said that Paul Chiang – who at once issued a veiled threat, encouraged foreign interference and trivialized the horrors Beijing has inflicted on dissidents – was a “person of integrity,” noting that he served for decades as a police officer and MP for the riding of Markham-Unionville for the last several years. Mr. Carney said that Mr. Chiang “made a terrible lapse in judgment,” as if he had gotten testy with a waiter at a restaurant, and not that he had suggested his political opponent be kidnapped by a violent and repressive foreign regime.

Chahinez Murder: Unveiling Islamic Beliefs Behind French ‘Femicide’ Facade

The trial of Mounir Boutaa has just opened in Bordeaux. This man is accused of killing his wife Chahinez Daoud in 2021 after abusing and beating her, dousing her with petrol, and burning her alive.

He took responsibility for his actions in advance: “At least his honour would be cleared and in prison, he would be seen as a man, whereas now he would be seen as a faggot,” a friend of Chahinez explained Boutaa’s reasoning.

THOMSON: These polls are crazy, what’s got into Canadians?

If you’re a Canadian who’s been following this election closely and have started to feel like you might be going insane, don’t worry. You’re not alone. This might be one of the most contradictory and bewildering elections we’ve ever seen in this country.

There’s no reason to be ashamed if you do feel this way, honestly I’d be more concerned for if you didn’t. It’s a completely normal reaction that any sane person should feel witnessing the collapse of the Canadian electorate’s ability to critically think.

Oh Canada, Our Fifty-First State?

Oh, Canada! With glowing hearts, we see thee rise in the news!

Trump wants to take over the Great White North. They impose high tariffs on our goods, and what do we get in return? The Liberal government refuses to control the nation’s borders, and crime is rampant all over Canada, as bad as we have seen in some of the United States’ major cities. Make them America, and we solve all our problems, right?

Reflections on the Counter-Revolution in America

Trump is racing to dismantle decades of leftist policies, but success hinges on speed, discipline, and the Supreme Court—while facing fierce resistance from entrenched institutions.

When Donald Trump entered office, he faced a number of choices that had confronted the last three Republican presidents, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, and George W. Bush. They all had the choice to either shrink government and reduce deficits or slow government growth while cutting taxes.

They had the choice of using American power to restore deterrence by invading belligerents (e.g., Grenada, Panama, Iraq, Afghanistan) or targeting enemies without deploying ground troops to change governments.

Toronto Star Upset Poilievre Won’t Let Them Land Fabricated Trump Smear

Pierre Poilievre rejects criticism that his campaign isn’t focused on Donald Trump

OTTAWA — Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is rejecting criticism that he is running a misguided federal election campaign that isn’t responding to Canadians’ anxieties about U.S. President Donald Trump.

At a campaign stop in Saint John, N.B. on Monday, Poilievre defended his focus on the alleged damage of a “lost Liberal decade” — from the increased cost of housing and groceries to thousands of drug overdose deaths in recent years — and said he has been talking for the past decade about what needs to be done to fortify Canada against American economic aggression.

The Left’s Imaginary Covid ‘Reckoning’

Even when conservatives are right, they’re right in the wrong way, liberals appear to be saying.

When I first came across Jonathan Chait’s new Atlantic piece, “Why the Covid Reckoning Is So One-Sided,” I assumed the answer would be that Democrats had been the ones relentlessly and tragically wrong about virtually everything during the pandemic. No such luck.

In Mr. Chait’s telling, the left remains uncannily open-minded, always striving for truth, while the dogmatic Right remains hopelessly bogged down in “pathological incuriosity.” Even when conservatives are right, they’re right in the wrong way.

After ‘Snow White,’ a Chance to Replace Hollywoke

Snow White v. Snow Bitch

If Hollywood is to recover from the ‘Snow White’ debacle, they will have to make use of the traditionalist writers they have long ignored.

Everything you need to know about the current state of American culture can be learned in this weekend’s movie box-office report. Disney’s feminist live-action Snow White remake plunged a catastrophic 66 percent in its second round to an abysmal $14 million. In two weeks, the $250-million-plus production (add at least $200 million more for advertising and marketing) has grossed a laughable — except to Disney executives — $67 million.
