‘Gruesome’ trans-ing of animals is the key to fine-tuning trans ‘care’

To invoke the second of Thomas Sowell’s three-question-rebuttal to destroy a leftist position: “At what cost?”

From Greg Piper’s new report at Just the News comes a welcome update: DOGE is reportedly putting a stop (at least a temporary one) to the “gruesome” trans-ing of little creatures who were unfortunate enough to find themselves under the ownership of Big Pharma while Anthony Fauci sat as the director of the NIAID, the latter having the legal authority to greenlight and fund unethical experimentation, which, spoiler alert, he did.

Justin Trudeau Has Left the Building

The man who went from ski instructor and kindergarten teacher virtually straight to being the Prime Minister of Canada has finally left the building. He resigned. But that was all for show. His party forced him out because the polls were diabolical. Go and read the Fraser Institute’s analysis of Canada’s economic performance after 10 plus years of Trudeau at the helm. When Justin took over from the Conservative Stephen Harper government in 2015 the per capita wealth and wages of Canada’s richest provinces compared well to all but nine or 10 US States. Today, wages and salaries are lower in every Canadian province compared to all 50 States, below even the poorest US States of Mississippi and Louisiana. Growth? Bad. Productivity? Woeful. Multiple quarters of GDP per capita decline. And this was assessed before Trump won last year’s November election, lest those with a bad case of TDS be tempted to blame the Orange Man. (As a further aside, a painful one, Canada’s economy is really bad. But Australia’s is worse than Canada’s on all these measures. Just sayin’ because you won’t hear it on the ABC.)

Tom Mulcair: Someone in Carney’s campaign made a bad call in pulling out of the TVA French debate

After taking part in many leaders’ debates during the 2015 federal election campaign, I may be in a unique position to comment on the Liberals’ refusal to participate in the now-cancelled TVA French debate.

When Canada’s main private French network said it wanted help in paying for its “Face à Face” leaders’ debate, there were some raised eyebrows. (Full disclosure: I work at TVA and its all-news channel, LCN).

TVA requested $75,000 from each of the four parties (the Greens have always been excluded from these debates for lack of any seats in Quebec).

Poilievre says he’ll pay broadcaster’s $75,000 fee for Carney if he’ll join French debate

Here Is Something New For You: Cats and the Green Debate

In the UK, cat ownership has steadily risen over the past century. At present, a quarter of all UK homes have one or more cats. But there is something that few cat owners are prepared to discuss: cats are, it is undeniable, an ecological disaster.

In Britain, a study carried out in the mid-1990s estimated that domestic cats, whose numbers were at around 9 million, killed 88 million birds and 164 million small mammals annually. (This same study found that among all activities investigated as reasons for the killing of wild animals, hunting and shooting were responsible for just 6.006% of deaths, whereas cats accounted for 82%.) A later study, carried out in 2022, revealed that domestic cats annually killed between 160-270 million wild animals, around a quarter of which were birds.

Anger over advert that drapes the Eiffel Tower in a hijab

A clothing brand specialising in Islamic dress has provoked a public row with an Instagram advertisement showing the Eiffel Tower swathed in a hijab, captioned: “The French government hates to see Merrachi coming.”

The tone of the advert for Merrachi has caused offence in France, which has banned the hijab in schools and public offices.

With the orange wave reduced to a ripple, the NDP is hoping for five seats in Quebec

OTTAWA — The NDP’s campaign launch, held in the eastern Montreal riding of Hochelaga-Rosemont-Est Sunday night, was as modest as its chances in the province.

The local NDP candidate, Julie Girard-Lemay, a spunky human rights lawyer and activist, was busy shaking hands with her fellow candidates and dozens of supporters huddled in her campaign office — a Mexican restaurant that recently closed — on Ontario Street.

Lucky for her, the walls of the restaurant were already painted orange.

Brookfield secured $250M loan from Bank of China under Carney’s oversight

Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre on Tuesday drew public attention to a report that shows Mark Carney in October, while chair of Brookfield Asset Management, brokered a deal with Chinese bankers.

A month prior to Carney’s trip to China, then-Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made him chair of the Liberals’ Task Force on Economic Growth.

Miami Incident Highlights Fact Cops Have NO Duty to Protect You

Imagine you’re in the center of a mob. A bunch of punks on bicycles are beating you half to death–let’s assume you’re disarmed for some reason–and you’re not sure you’ll survive. Then you see it: A white car with flashing blue lights. You’re saved!

Only, you’re not. The officer never exits the vehicle. She just sits inside and watches, possibly recording it on the dash cam, but doing absolutely nothing else.

LILLEY: If Carney can’t be trusted with the truth, how can he be trusted with the country?

It seems that lying for Mark Carney comes so casually, he doesn’t even realize it. On Monday, the Liberal leader tried to fib to the Canadian public about both a call with Donald Trump and about his desire to take part in a French language debate.

Neither statement would last the day before being proven to be false.

“Why not? Yes, yes,” Carney said when he was asked about taking part in the French language debate by TV station TVA.

Canada‘s Conservative Party Promises to Cut Mass Economic Migration

Canada’s conservative leader wants to win the nation’s April 28 national elections and is hammering Justin Trudeau’s replacement for supporting the massive legal immigration that has caused massive pocketbook damage to ordinary Canadians.

The Conservative Party candidate is Pierre Poilievre. He is campaigning against Mark Carney, an international banker and Goldman Sachs executive who replaced the disgraced Justin Trudeau as head of Canada’s Liberal Party.

In a world of carnivores, herbivores do not fare well

An “act of faith” worth 5.8 billion euros to the “new Syria”: The Donors Conference organized by the European Union certifies the change of pace in the West’s relations with Damascus after the fall of Bashar Assad’s regime and the arrival to power of Ahmad al Sharaa, known as “al Julani”. The conference raised 5.8 billion euros in loans and grants, 80 percent of which from the EU. From the Commission alone, Ursula von der Leyen announced, 2.5 billion euros are arriving in Damascus.

Six billion a week after the worst religious pogrom in recent history?

A new regime ruled by a former jihadist who until December had a $10 million bounty on his head, who is building an Islamic dictatorship and who has just organized a religious pogrom of Alawites?

Federal Workers Shouldn’t Have Collective-Bargaining Rights

The Department of Government Efficiency is providing a public service—though not only in the way its supporters intend. In its push to streamline the bureaucracy, DOGE has sent federal unions into a frenzy of opposition, underscoring the need for a long-overdue reform: ending collective bargaining for federal employees.

Federal unions have fought DOGE’s right-sizing efforts at every turn. They have discouraged workers from accepting the Trump administration’s buyout offers, led protests against agency workforce reductions, and filed lawsuits to block DOGE’s actions. Their goal is simple: to preserve an unsustainable status quo, in which unelected bureaucrats wield power over ordinary Americans.
