New footage shows fireball explode as Delta plane crash lands and flips over on Pearson runway

Shocking video has captured the moment a Delta plane carrying 80 people burst into flames upon landing on an icy runway at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

The extraordinary footage comes as Canadian authorities reveal they are still working to determine the cause of the crash, calling for patience as they seal off two runways and recruit reinforcements from the United States.

All 76 passengers and four crew members survived the Monday crash, which comes on the heels of a terrible month of aviation disasters across North America.

Heritage Minister Pascale St-Onge will not seek re-election: source

Heritage Minister Pascale St-Onge will not seek re-election, Radio-Canada has learned. However, she will shortly unveil her proposal to modernize CBC/Radio-Canada’s mandate.

According to a Liberal source, St-Onge will announce this week that she will not be a candidate in the next election. She represents the riding of Brome-Missisquoi in Quebec and was elected in 2021. St-Onge plans to complete her term as minister and MP.

The exodus continues hinting that internal polling is likely far more dire than the Carney Mania results ginned up by reliable pollsters.

Non-permanent residents now 7.4% of population of Canada

Canada undercounts non-permanent residents (NPRs) in its labour market data, according to a new report from the C.D. Howe Institute.

This underrepresentation in Statistics Canada’s Labour Force Survey (LFS) distorts critical economic indicators such as unemployment rates and nominal wage growth, creating challenges for policymakers and economic analysts.

Europeans Don’t Get Free Speech, and Neither Does CBS News, Apparently

JD Vance spoke over the weekend at the Munich security conference on behalf of the United States — the primary topic was Ukraine, for obvious reasons — but instead of discussing the immediate geopolitical matter, he took his time at the rostrum to deliver a harsh message to the European grandees gathered there about the enemy “within.” And he wasn’t subtle in identifying that threat as the overreaction of Europeans to dissident populist parties …

Under Trump, CIA plots bigger role in drug cartel fight

The Central Intelligence Agency is poised to take a larger, more aggressive role under President Donald Trump in the battle against Mexican-based drug cartels, devising and evaluating plans to share more intelligence with regional governments, train local counternarcotics units and possibly conduct other covert actions, according to people familiar with the matter.

The expanded focus on cartels, which smuggle fentanyl and other narcotics into the United States, represents a new and potentially risky priority for the spy agency, which in recent years has made espionage against China, counterterrorism operations in the Middle East and Africa, and support for Ukraine after Russia’s 2022 invasion its main concerns.

WAPO is worried this will upset the Cartels.

Trump Is Displacing the Old Ruling Class

Trump’s instincts are Machiavellian in the best sense of that word. His massive changes have produced great resistance from the old order.

Jim Holmes, Chair of Maritime Strategy at the Naval War College and Distinguished Fellow at the Krulak Center at the Marine Corps University, is one of our country’s leading public intellectuals. He is a throwback to Alfred Thayer Mahan, a naval officer and perhaps our country’s greatest public intellectual of the late 19th-early 20th century. Holmes has an interesting take on President Donald Trump’s approach to governing in his second term, comparing Trump to Niccolo Machiavelli, the brilliant Florentine statesman and the author of timeless classics on politics, including The Prince and Discourses on Livy.

Burnham understood that political change often results from … the “circulation of elites” — when a new ruling class takes power from the old ruling class.

Government Downsizing and the Left’s Instinctive Outcry

Some 75,000 federal employees have accepted the Trump administration’s voluntary buyout offer and the Trump administration is ramping up the firings of various groups of federal workers as well, from ineffective inspectors general to partisan U.S. Attorneys, and possibly whole wasteful agencies whenever the case can be made and its legality confirmed.

The American Left is horrified by this sudden activity. Normally, it’s only Democrat presidents who move this quickly, and of course, they move in the opposite direction. This wasn’t expected; they thought they could keep President Trump on his heels, stymied from most of the actions that he was elected to do, as in his first term.

Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters goes on unhinged rant at UN while wearing Palestine pin

Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters gave a rambling ‘peace speech’ while wearing a pin of the Palestinian flag during a gathering at the United Nations on Monday.

The controversial 81-year-old musician addressed diplomats via Zoom at a Security Council meeting in New York about the war in Ukraine as the third anniversary approaches.

Waters was presented as an ‘activist,’ despite being known for supporting Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israel and appearing to dress as a Nazi during a live performance in Berlin back in 2023.

Unhinged is his default setting.

Don’t Mention Islamism: Deflection and Moral Posturing Rule in Germany

Each terrorist attack is followed by a coordinated effort from establishment voices to control the public narrative and deflect criticism of migration policies.

It was the most brutal attack on a trade union event in the history of post-war Germany. Last Thursday, just days before the general election, a man drove a car into a group of striking members of the service workers’ union Verdi in Munich. The attack has so far claimed the lives of a mother and her two-year-old daughter, and injured at least 30 others.

The suspect is a 24-year-old Afghan national who arrived in Germany eight years ago as an unaccompanied minor and was subsequently granted residence status. According to police reports, he had previously shared Islamist content on social media. Upon his arrest, he shouted “Allahu akbar”, leading authorities to classify the incident as “most likely” Islamist-motivated.

ANDRUS: Trudeau’s Senate farce

Last week, the Prime Minister filled another three vacant seats in the Senate by appointing Baltej Dhillon (British Columbia), Martine Hébert (Quebec), and Todd Lewis (Saskatchewan) as “independent” Senators.

But, let’s be real.

As we’ve told you before, Justin Trudeau claims to be “modernizing” the Senate, by appointing “independent” Senators.
