Trump proposes U.S. control of Gaza, permanent displacement of residents

President Donald Trump on Tuesday proposed that the United States take a “long-term ownership position” over Gaza, moving its residents to a “good, fresh, beautiful piece of land” in another country and rebuilding the war-torn territory under U.S. control, offering a vision of mass displacement likely to inflame sentiments in the Arab world as he welcomed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House.

Trump’s proposal was likely to provoke a furious reaction from many Palestinians as well as their Arab allies in the region, since it suggested permanently removing Gaza’s 2.2 million residents from Palestinian territory and settling them outside of their land. It would also pull the United States even more deeply into the conflict by taking over territory that belongs to Palestinians.

The idea was a first indicator of Trump’s swaggering approach to the region, as he waded into a generations-old conflict with the assurance that he could resolve what years of efforts by U.S. diplomats have failed to accomplish. His proposal appeared to give little consideration to what Palestinians have said they want

It’s Time to End DEI in Immigration

Today’s system prioritizes diversity and inclusion over merit and skill.

President Donald Trump has moved decisively to eradicate “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” initiatives in the federal government and private sector. His actions are a great step forward, but one area of federal policy has been spared his efforts so far—U.S. immigration policy remains infused with DEI principles. Trump has a historic opportunity to fix this problem and put America first.

Jack Mintz: Trump sets the stage for the next Canadian election

This week we witnessed the fallout from U.S. President Donald Trump’s “America First” strategy. It was a fiasco for markets with tariffs threatened against two allies — Canada and Mexico at 25 per cent (10 per cent for Canadian energy) — and levied against one foe, China, at 10 per cent.

Trump is already basking in another “victory” while many will say he balked because of the disruption. Canada and Mexico agreed to toughen border security and curb fentanyl smuggling across the border, which was the focus of the executive order issued last Saturday.

Witkoff Meets PLO Leader Who Vowed to Spend ‘Last Penny’ Financing Terror

Fresh from his success of implementing the Biden plan and saving Hamas, Steven Witkoff, acting as President Donald Trump’s Middle East Envoy, went to Saudi Arabia, homeland of the 9/11 hijackers, and met with Hussein Al-Sheikh, secretary-general of the PLO Executive Committee and head of the Palestinian Authority (PA) General Authority of Civil Affairs, who is apparently the leading candidate to replace PLO chief and PA President Mahmoud Abbas.

U.S. authorities charge Canadian teen math whiz in alleged US$65-million cryptocurrency scheme

The U.S. Department of Justice has charged a 22-year-old Canadian math whiz in connection with what it calls “cryptocurrency hacking schemes” that allegedly netted him US$65-million in digital tokens.

Andean Medjedovic, who at 19 had already completed a master’s degree in mathematics at the University of Waterloo, is accused of exploiting vulnerabilities in decentralized financial platforms and then laundering the proceeds of those schemes, according to the indictment unsealed on Monday.

Mr. Medjedovic went into hiding in 2021, according to Ontario court documents.

Trump’s Mass Deportation Promise Hits Snag as ICE Releases Some Arrested Immigrants

Space constraints and legal limits are forcing the freeing of detainees despite administration’s tough stance.

With more than 8,000 immigrants arrested by federal agents since President Trump arrived back at the White House, some have already been released back into America despite the promise of mass deportation.

With the number of arrests increasing, space constraints at Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facilities, and federal court orders that forbid indefinite detention, ICE officials have been forced to release some of those arrested as an alternative to holding them until deportation can be completed, according to a report from NBC News.

I trust Homan to work this out.

Wikipedia Effectively Blacklists ALL Right-Leaning Media; Smearing Trump, GOP and Conservatives

Hoping to avoid misinformation about President Donald Trump’s nominees and appointments on Wikipedia? Good luck. Wikipedia has designed a protocol that directly and unerringly produces the worst descriptions about conservatives and Republicans by virtually guaranteeing that right-leaning media sources cannot be cited. The once reliable online encyclopedia ran off the rails under the leadership of its previous CEO Katherine Maher, who made sure that not a single right-leaning outlet was deemed “reliable”—a stark contrast to the 84 percent of leftist media Wikipedia deems reliable.

New ‘fentanyl czar’ will coordinate campaign in Canada against illegal production and distribution

Public Safety Minister David McGuinty says the new “fentanyl czar” position Canada is creating after a deal with U.S. President Donald Trump will be a commanding role to coordinate a national campaign against illegal production and distribution of the deadly opioid.

“This new fentanyl czar position is one that will transcend any one part of the government will pull together a full Canadian national response between our provinces, our police of local jurisdiction, and work with our American authorities,” Mr. McGuinty told CNN in an interview Tuesday.

AGAR: A look at trade war from Americans’ viewpoints

While we talk about how a trade war is also harmful to Americans, how do Americans feel about it?

There are 335 million of them, so I didn’t get around to everyone over the weekend, but I did talk to three of my more politically engaged and conservative friends in the U.S., in three different states, and I thought you might find it interesting from their viewpoint.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr‘s Confirmation Clears Committee in 14-13 Vote

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., President Donald Trump’s nominee for Health and Human Services Secretary, passed through the Senate Finance Committee on Tuesday in a 14-13 vote.

Senators in the committee voted on Tuesday morning. All eyes were on Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), who announced right before the vote that he would, in fact, vote yes on Kennedy.

The trade war is off — but for how long?

Canadian sports fans might be persuaded to stop jeering the American national anthem. At least for the next 30 days.

The trade war is off. At least for now. But that is of limited solace. And even if the next deadline somehow comes and goes without the resumption of hostilities, it’s not clear when Canadians will again be able to view the United States as a reliable friend or predictable ally.

The resolution, such as it is, came on Monday after Canadian officials agreed to a handful of additional measures to respond to Donald Trump’s stated concerns about fentanyl moving across his country’s northern border — the appointment of a “fentanyl czar,” listing Mexican drug cartels as terrorist entities, and investing $200 million toward gathering intelligence on organized crime.

So long as Trudeau masquerades as PM we’ll be in trouble.

‘It’s been madness’: US federal workers reeling over Trump-Musk takeover

US government workers are describing an atmosphere of “fear” and “madness” as they grapple with a barrage of executive orders issued by Donald Trump and threats to their jobs from the office of personnel management, the agency tasked with managing the federal civil service, which has been taken over by the billionaire Elon Musk.

Weeks before the administration transition, federal worker unions reported low morale among workers in anticipation of pushes for intimidation, mass firings and harassment.
