US accuses financial website of spreading Russian propaganda

WASHINGTON — U.S. intelligence officials on Tuesday accused a conservative financial news website with a significant American readership of amplifying Kremlin propaganda and alleged five media outlets targeting Ukrainians have taken direction from Russian spies.

The officials said Zero Hedge, which has 1.2 million Twitter followers, published articles created by Moscow-controlled media that were then shared by outlets and people unaware of their nexus to Russian intelligence. The officials did not say whether they thought Zero Hedge knew of any links to spy agencies and did not allege direct links between the website and Russia.

In most instances people can sort the wheat from the chaff i.e. we know the CBC is propaganda, we know RT is the Russian CBC, but why hasn’t the New York Times been charged for publishing Communist China’s bilge?

Carson Jerema: Trudeau facing the consequences for cynically politicizing vaccines

At this point, it is not entirely inconceivable that the Ottawa protesters will get their wish of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau being forced to step down before they pack up and head home. With public opinion firmly against the prime minister, his caucus, which is already beginning to speak out, may conclude that there is no other way out of this crisis, and start demanding he leave or actively push him out. That is not something to celebrate, as it would confirm that our institutions, from Parliament down, are so completely full of rot that normal governing has become impossible.

Four go on trial in Paris over jihadist murder of French priest

Four alleged accomplices in the murder of an 85-year-old French priest go on trial in Paris on Monday after years of investigations into one of the most grisly jihadist attacks that have rocked France in recent years.

Father Jacques Hamel had his throat slit at the foot of the altar while celebrating mass on July 26, 2016, at his church in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray, a working-class suburb of Rouen in northwest France.

The two 19-year-old assailants, Adel Kermiche and Abdel-Malik Petitjean, also seriously injured one of the worshippers they took hostage before being shot and killed by police as they tried to leave the church.

Trudeau invents an emergency

Canada’s government seems to care only about maintaining control and saving face

It was the hot tub that did it. Photos of convoy supporters relaxing in a hot tub on a downtown Ottawa street last weekend were splashed all over the news. Now Justin Trudeau is mad and he’s gone and invoked war measures, known as the Emergencies Act. He wants that hot tub off the streets, pronto, and he needs wartime powers to get it done. Civil liberties remain “temporarily” suspended… just for two weeks, while we flatten the protesters!

Trudeauscu’s Liberal Party and their Corporate cronies intend to flood Canada with 1.3 million bodies over 3 years

Canada wants to welcome 1.3 million newcomers over three years — but can its immigration system keep up?

Canada Trudeauscu’ handlers plan to welcome more than 1.3 million new immigrants to the country over the next three years to help its economy recover from COVID-19 and to drive future growth.

Immigration Minister Sean Fraser’s multi-year immigration-levels plan was announced Monday.

“If we’re not ready to significantly increase our ambition when it comes to immigration, we are going to be in a position where our economy will suffer, and it could put into jeopardy so many of the public services and social supports that make me very proud to be Canadian,” Fraser said.

But the plan comes amid calls from critics for the federal government to first reduce the ballooning backlog of 1.8 million applications piling up in the system as a result of slowed processing capacity during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mass immigration does not benefit Canadians. It benefits Trudeau’s handlers.

Hey let’s make that housing shortage even worse! See how it works? You pay and pay and pay while Trudeau’s crony capitalists get rich.

Normalizing emergency legislation threatens democracy, civil liberties: CCLA

There are some concerns about the federal government’s decision to invoke the Emergencies Act to end antigovernment blockades against COVID-19 measures that are being held across the country.

The Canadian Civil Liberties Association says it does not believe the “high and clear” threshold needed to invoke the act has been met, noting the law states it can only be used when a situation cannot be dealt with using any other law in the country.

Ontario reports 19 more COVID-19 deaths; 1,550 hospitalizations

Ontario is reporting 19 more virus-related deaths and more than 1,500 hospitalizations as the province prepares to lift all capacity limits in indoor settings this week.

A Ministry of Health spokesperson says the latest deaths occurred over the past 24 days with one death yesterday, six on Feb.13 and four on Feb. 12.

Why is Canada’s Covid death rate so much lower than US?

Images of Canada’s paralysed capital and of pandemic-rules protests have thrust the country’s Covid response under the spotlight.

What started as a trucker-led movement to demand the end of a vaccine mandate has escalated to include all kinds of public health restrictions.

But since the pandemic began, Canada has fared far better than the US, despite similar income disparities, territorial divides, and comorbidities such as obesity and hypertension as its southern neighbour.

Trucker blockade at Coutts, Alta., border crossing winds down

The protesters who used semis, farm equipment, campers, and other vehicles to block access to and from the U.S.-Canada border at Coutts, Alta., wound down their demonstration Monday night, with the last holdouts planning to leave the area Tuesday morning.

… “I feel a little defeated,” Isaac Peters said while sitting around the fires Monday night. The mood of the protest changed Monday after RCMP said it arrested 12 people after finding a weapons stash. The Mounties said this cluster joined the protest in its early days but were separate from the larger group. The situation prompted RCMP to suit up in tactical gear, Mr. Peters said, and openly carry large firearms.

They don’t want to have to be called before a grand jury and have to say where they got the fake story, and why they continue to peddle it,” she added.

Freedom Convoy Responds To Trudeau’s Latest Threat, Sets Up A Coming Clash

As the government attempted to remove the Ambassador Bridge, the Freedom Convoy staged a strategic retreat from Ottawa. The thinking appears to be that it does no good to have those protesters arrested and their trucks impounded when they can reinforce what’s happening in Canada’s capital.
