Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is being dragged for “bad theater” after she appeared to break down on the House floor just moments after she voted “present” on an effort to provide $1 billion in funding for Israel’s Iron Dome.

The 31-year-old made a last-minute decision to amend her vote to “present” on Thursday — going against her fellow Squad members who had opposed the bill.

Moments after the bill overwhelmingly passed 420-9, the New York Democrat appeared to start crying and was comforted by fellow lawmakers.

Britain offers Canadian military help to defend the Arctic

Britain is signalling its interest in working with the Canadian military in the Arctic by offering to take part in cold-weather exercises and bring in some of its more advanced capabilities — such as nuclear-powered submarines — to help with surveillance and defence in the Far North.

In a recent exclusive interview with CBC News, the United Kingdom’s top military commander said his country is “keen to cooperate” and learn more about how to survive and fight in a cold, remote setting.

Gen. Sir Nick Carter said Britain would also like to “cooperate in terms of helping Canada do what Canada needs to do as an Arctic country.”

Two Michael’s release not included as part of Meng Wanzhou Deal

Meng Wanzhou, the chief financial officer of Huawei Technologies, is expected to appear virtually in federal court in New York City Friday to resolve U.S. bank fraud charges against her, according to a source.

The source said the plea agreement does not include Canadians Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig, who have been imprisoned in China on charges of espionage since December 2018. It remains unclear if there is a side agreement with China that would free the two men who were arrested after Ms. Meng was detained at Vancouver International Airport on a U.S. extradition request.

AUKUS, no release for the Michaels, extended covid land border closures, threatened oil pipeline closures… I don’t think Biden like’s Blackie much.

Almost anyone can fake an Ontario vaccine certificate — and concerns about bogus documents are mounting

With a month still to go before Ontario launches its vaccination verification app, concerns are being raised about how easy it is to modify the province’s existing vaccination certificates — potentially letting unvaccinated people gain access to restaurants, bars, gyms and even flights.

According to forensic document examiner Shabnam Preet Kaur, the existing vaccination certificates, which are in the form of Portable Document Format (PDF) files, can be quickly edited to change the name, birthdate and other personal information using a number of easily accessible programs.

Afghanistan: Executions will return, says senior Taliban official

The Taliban’s notorious former head of religious police has said extreme punishments such as executions and amputations will resume in Afghanistan.

Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, now in charge of prisons, told AP News amputations were “necessary for security”.

He said these punishments may not be meted out in public, as they were under previous Taliban rule in the 1990s.

But he dismissed outrage over their past public executions: “No-one will tell us what our laws should be.”

Despite fielding what the Conservatives said was the most diverse slate of candidates in their party’s history, only one new MP from a racialized community was elected, and preliminary results suggest five racialized incumbents went down to defeat.

That leaves the Conservative caucus overwhelmingly white and overwhelmingly male.

And that’s also leaving many in the party absolutely furious.

A Respected Law Firm Issued Release Saying FDA ‘tried to deceive people’ People That Pfizer-BioNTech COVID Vaccine Was Approved

On August 27, I wrote a story about how the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) pulled a fast one by making the claim that they approved the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine which kicked off a series of Democrat tyrants formulating plans to mandate Americans get vaccinated whether they want to or not or they lose their jobs. The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, along with Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson, were given Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) by the FDA, and vaccines under EUA cannot be mandated by any employer, including the federal government under Title 21, Section 360bbb-3.

My research showed that the FDA’s own fact sheet for the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine that was written on August 23rd, the same day they announced the approval, reveals that Comirnaty was approved and the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is still under Emergency Use Authorization. They have since changed the revised date to September 22, but the information remains.

Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole’s strategy to broaden the Tory base did not achieve the breakthrough he sought, so it is time for a deep rethink.

Every progressive, and most of the mainstream commentariat, endlessly proclaim that the only road to victory for Conservatives is to embrace the values and policies of the centre-left. In their view, the Conservatives had no hope of winning unless O’Toole adopted all the revered shibboleths and politically correct strictures of the Liberal elite.

I suspect the CPC is happy with their current course left. You might hear a few actual conservative statements etc from them from time to time but rest assured they’ll recant the minute they can.

Provincial health officials logged 727 new coronavirus cases today, up from 677 on Thursday but down from 795 a week ago.

Of the latest cases, 447 are among unvaccinated individuals, 56 are partially vaccinated, 170 are fully vaccinated and 54 have an unknown vaccination status.

Legal Organization Calls on Ontario to Revoke ‘Unconstitutional’ Vaccine Passport Mandate

A legal organization is calling on the Ontario government to revoke its vaccine passport mandate, citing “deep concerns” about the constitutionality of the measure.

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms issued a letter (pdf) Sept. 22, demanding the government rescind the mandate, which requires Ontarians aged 12 and above to show proof of having taken two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in order to access a wide range of public facilities such as restaurants, bars, gyms, music venues, theatres and meeting spaces. The system came into effect on Sept. 22.

I was downtown most of yesterday having chauffeured my brother to a doctor’s appointment. Bought a coffee at Starbucks and was asked for my Vaxx papers and OHIP number because I elected to stay inside.

Huawei CFO Meng expected to resolve U.S. charges in Brooklyn federal court – source

WASHINGTON, Sept 24 (Reuters) – Huawei Technologies (HWT.UL) Chief Financial Officer Meng Wanzhou is expected to appear virtually in federal court to resolve U.S. charges against her, according to a source familiar with the situation.

Resolving the case would remove one of several major disputes between the world’s two biggest economies.

Meng was arrested at Vancouver International Airport in December 2018 on a U.S. warrant that charged her with fraud for allegedly misleading HSBC (HSBA.L) about Huawei’s business dealings in Iran.

The pandemic was a test of America’s public health bureaucracy. It failed.

Those failures were legion, and they were spread across multiple officials, agencies, and layers of government. But no institution failed quite as abysmally as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which, through a combination of arrogance, incompetence, and astonishingly poor planning, wasted America’s only chance to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 before it spread widely.
