The moment of truth has dawned for the electric vehicle industry

The nosedive in U.S. sales of electric vehicles since the elimination of the federal EV tax credit at the end of September is the latest moment of truth for the sector.

And that truth, when free market forces determine the true value of a product stripped of artificial sweeteners and incentives for buyers, is harsh.

Crusading reverend puts up anti-ICE sign on church’s NATIVITY scene as MAGA congregation slams foul move

Nativity scene desecrated

A pastor who put up an anti-ICE Nativity scene at his Massachusetts parish has faced backlash from the agency’s director and the Archdiocese of Boston.

Reverend Stephen Josoma placed a sign that says ‘ICE WAS HERE’ over the empty manger of an otherwise classic Nativity scene on display outside the Saint Susanna Parish in the Boston suburb of Dedham.

Attached to the manger is another sign that says, ‘The Holy Family is safe in The Sanctuary of our Church,’ along with the phone number to call LUCE, a group that monitors immigration enforcement and offers support to immigrant communities in Massachusetts.

What a maroon!

A new tripolar world order is emerging without Europe

Europe has had a good run. It has been at the top of world affairs for half a millennium, since the great age of exploration connected all continents and first gave man a global perspective. The great European empires – initially Portuguese, then Spanish, British, French – dominated much of the planet for some 350 years. The places that lay beyond European control were either inward-facing civilisations like China and Japan, or regional powers without truly global ambitions like the Ottomans, Russia and the United States in its first century of independence.

But over the past 150 years, Europe’s collective weight in the global balance of power has been on a declining path. Two world wars, the loss of empire, the rise of new players with global reach – first America, then the Soviets and now China – have seen Old Europe give up its primacy in international affairs but nonetheless retain a seat at the top geopolitical table.

MORGAN: Quit pretending we need indigenous consent!

Albertans are rightly skeptical of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between Premier Danielle Smith and Prime Minister Mark Carney to build a new pipeline to the Pacific coast. That skepticism morphed into hostile cynicism last weekend as Smith found herself booed at her own AGM in Edmonton at the very mention of the agreement.

Considering the messaging from Ottawa on the issue, though, why on earth should Albertans believe for a second that Carney genuinely wants a pipeline developed?

‘Indigenous’ is the new ‘Oriental’ – and that opens the door to pretendians

Grey Owl – Archie Belaney – A visionary!

Like most children, my kids did not have naturally curious taste buds. And like most children, they would often fall back on safe classics, like macaroni and cheese and instant noodles.

My son still enjoys the noodles, and he has remained loyal to the Mr. Noodles brand. That’s because Mr. Noodles alone offers his favourite flavour: “Oriental.”

One afternoon, as I stood stirring a pot of noodles, he asked, “What is Oriental, anyway?” Which is a good question. Because “Oriental” isn’t any particular flavour – it’s not soy sauce, not five-spice, but … “Oriental.”

The Innocent Bystanders Caught in Deadly Crossfire of Self-Defense Shootings

Kenneth Santana-Rodriguez brought along his 9mm handgun on a pedicure date with a woman at “A Touch of Beauty” nail salon in Holyoke, Mass.

They were sitting side by side when the father of the woman’s child burst into the salon, demanding to know the nature of their relationship. Santana-Rodriguez told police the man raised his shirt to reveal a firearm and said, You know what’s about to happen.

Santana-Rodriguez pulled out his 9mm and shot twice. “It was him or me,” he told police. Yet he missed his intended target, Irvin Sanchez. One bullet instead struck the chest of an employee who had been working on the woman’s toenails, killing Trung “Michael” Tran, 33 years old. Prosecutors filed a charge of first-degree murder against Santana-Rodriguez.

‘Expert panel’ told Liberals to ban certain models of the SKS rifle in nearly year-old report

OTTAWA — A new report from an expert panel struck to help guide the Liberals’ efforts to ban firearms shows the government appears to have ignored parts of its advice when it comes to certain makes of the SKS semi-automatic rifle.

That make of firearm has proven to be among the most controversial for the Liberals when it comes to the government’s list of more than 2,500 makes and models of guns it has banned since 2020.

I’m sick of this DEI hire.

CURRIER: Canada lost track of 1 million people – and still has no plan

Immigration. That very word can spark a heated debate in Canada, and it frequently does. While it’s clear that Canada as a nation was built on immigration following early colonization, it has always remained a point of controversy. How many people should we allow in? Where should they come from? What is the criteria for allowing an immigrant to Canada and where will they live?

Taking out the garbage in Minnesota

President Trump has had enough. A majority of Americans have had enough of Ilhan Omar’s ingratitude.

So last week, Trump minced no words. He came straight out and called her “garbage,” and then called “her friends” also garbage.

No doubt he was referring to her fellow Somalis out there in Minneapolis who number at around 100,000, and do nothing “but complain,” according to Trump.

The Andrew debacle has blown open the royal coffers for all to see

If you’ve ever dramatically broken up with an ex, only to find, to your miserable disbelief, that they keep popping up in the most inconvenient circumstances, you may feel a degree of sympathy with the royals as regards Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. A few weeks after he was stripped of his titles and ordered to leave Royal Lodge, he may now be the Andrew formerly known as Prince, but he shows no signs of wishing to leave his Windsor grace-and-favour home. By the terms of his (remarkably generous) lease, he is entitled to twelve months’ notice before departing. As one of his few remaining friends told the Times, ‘It’s really rather sad, but if it’s a case of who will blink first, then Andrew is going to dig in. He ain’t going anywhere.’

I wonder how long a white monarchy will last in a kingdom whose “subjects” hate white people?
