White House Calls Trump’s Thanksgiving Message Deriding Tim Walz, Ilhan Omar, and Minnesota Somalis ‘One of the Most Important’ He’s Ever Written

In a Thanksgiving message late Thursday night, President Trump attacked Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, criticizing his intellectual capacity, and also attacked Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar as part of a lengthy denunciation of Minnesota’s large Somali community, which has recently come under scrutiny.

Early Friday, the White House pushed out over X the Truth Social posting where Mr. Trump made his remarks, calling them “one of the most important messages ever released by President Trump. Read every word.”

SMOL: Prime Minister Mark Carney’s war on veterans goes beyond budget cuts

What might be your course of action if you wished to dilute and ultimately eliminate the government’s duty of care for disabled veterans without making it seem so obvious?

First, appoint a complete neophyte as minister of Veterans Affairs – one who has no Parliamentary or cabinet experience. A minister who would be expected to kowtow to the policy will of the Prime Minister’s Office and who can be expected to happily repeat, with sincerity, any canned talking points they receive from the man in charge.

‘Queering outdoor education’: BC teachers encouraged to view nature as LGBT propaganda

British Columbia’s public school teacher’s union has proposed a solution to those who object to radical sex education curriculum: just make everything queer – including the outdoors.

Tristin Hopper of the National Post broke the story this week in his Canadian politics newsletter, “First Reading.” A BC Teachers’ Federation publication, Teacher Magazine, featured an article by Jody Polukoshko titled, “Queering outdoors education.” Polukoshko is “a Vancouver teacher and past president of the Vancouver Elementary and Adult Educator’s Society.”

Why the rich and powerful couldn’t say no to Epstein

It was one of the big set-pieces in Washington in 2019.

All eyes were on Donald Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, who was testifying to a US House of Representatives committee about his former boss.

A Democratic member of the committee, Stacey Plaskett, was preparing to question Cohen and was seen on camera texting someone on her phone.

This week, the public found out the identity of the other person in that exchange – the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Why Doug Ford wants Mark Carney to show the west ‘some love’

This is a love story.

In May, Ontario Premier Doug Ford implored his ally, Prime Minister Mark Carney, to show the west “some love.”

Ford reasoned that, after a decade of prime minister Justin Trudeau’s fractious relations with some western provinces over environmental and energy policies, it was time for a change in tone from Ottawa.

Wake me when the pipelines are built.

Copper Thieves Are Wreaking Havoc Across America

LOS ANGELES—Rahdeese Alcutt, an AT&T investigator, once managed line repairs for the telecommunications company in this sprawling city. Now, he is the copper police.

Thieves have wreaked havoc in the area, prying open manholes, chipping away at asphalt and climbing trees and poles to cut and steal—and then resell—copper wires that transmit electrical signals for phone and internet lines.

Alcutt patrols the streets and relies on sensors and geotrackers to get alerts when the lines are being tampered with or removed. Information about some thefts is reported to an AT&T security hotline. He has even received tips from local gang members who are tired of their internet going out.

Environment minister insists Ottawa not rolling back climate policy in wake of Alberta MOU

Following the historic signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Ottawa and Alberta to lay the groundwork for a new oil pipeline — and the resignation of longtime cabinet minister Steven Guilbeault over the issue — Environment and Climate and Change Minister Julie Dabrusin insists the federal government is not rolling back its climate policy.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Mark Carney and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith committed to a series of measures aimed at strengthening cooperation on major projects and outlining the conditions that need to be met before a new oil pipeline to the Pacific to proceed.

Just hours later, Guilbeault — who served as environment minister for nearly four years under former prime minister Justin Trudeau, resigned from the prime minister’s cabinet declaring his strong opposition to the MOU.

Danielle Smith’s oil deal with Mark Carney was supposed to quiet Alberta’s separatists. Too bad they didn’t get the message

The long-awaited agreement inked between the federal government and Alberta this week was expected to clear the path for a new oil pipeline, renew focus on carbon capture and, it was hoped, cool the jets of the province’s increasingly vocal separatists, eager to chart the prairie province’s path out of confederation.

Too bad the separatists themselves didn’t get the message.

“This is the complete opposite. This just got everyone angrier,” says Mitch Sylvestre, head of the Alberta Prosperity Project (APP), one of a handful of groups pursuing independence and the backers of a pro-separation referendum question that is currently before the courts.
