Housing migrants in military bases ignores the real root of public anger

For the third weekend in a row, hundreds of residents in the east Sussex town of Crowborough have protested against the government’s plans to house asylum seekers at a military site.

It is no surprise that the Home Office’s plans, announced in October, have provoked such a fierce backlash. According to the BBC, up to 540 single male asylum seekers are to be housed at an army training camp on the outskirts of this small town. At last Sunday’s demonstrations, protesters chanted ‘Crowborough says no’ and ‘protect our community’. They also wore individual numbers, each number representing one of the immigrants soon to arrive.

Terry Newman: Terrorism expert has a stark warning for Canada

Muslims desecrate public spaces with death cult rituals

Anti-Israel demonstrations and mass street prayers are about ‘conquering the streets,’ says Beni Sabti. ‘This is something very, very dangerous’

Iranian-born, Israeli terrorism expert Beni Sabti says the persistent presence of anti-Israel Hamas supporters in Canadian streets, their intimidation of Christians through mass prayers outside of churches and their open threats to the media are well-known forms of Islamist aggression. According to Sabti, Canada should be concerned about the possibility of its own October 7.

Gee if only Canada had people sounding the alarm on Islamist bullcrap all these years…

Hero firefighter who allowed colleagues to use the term ‘fireman’ after woman complained loses unfair dismissal case

A senior firefighter who was disciplined after a female colleague was subject to a ‘longstanding campaign’ of offensive comments by bosses has lost an unfair dismissal case.

Simon Bailey, who was previously praised for his bravery, was issued a written warning in July 2023 by a tribunal after he oversaw an ‘openly sexist’ workplace environment which included failing to challenge staff who used the term ‘fireman’ instead of ‘firefighter’.

The 27-year veteran of Avon and Somerset Fire Service was disciplined after his colleague Sasha Acheson complained about the behaviour of her peers in 2021.

Thanksgiving — Beyond the First Feast

Uncovering the origins, myths, and meaning behind America’s enduring autumn ritual.

Whenever the holiday season comes upon us, annual traditions and thanksgiving activities are a blessing. Family events center around each special occasion — Hannukah, Christmas, New Year’s — and Thanksgiving is no exception. Yet, while this celebration is quite common for American households, and we grow up anticipating the turkey, stuffing, apple pie — the inevitable food “coma” and football naps — many of us remain curious about how this ritual began — the “origin story” of this beloved holiday.

Waterloo school board hit with legal challenge over forced land acknowledgements

The Waterloo Region District School Board is facing a constitutional fight after a local parent and school council member launched a court challenge over the board’s decision to require land acknowledgements at every meeting and block any discussion about them.

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms has filed the application on behalf of Geoffrey Horsman, a biochemistry professor, father of three, and member of the Kitchener Waterloo Collegiate and Vocational School Council.

John Robson: This museum may cause unconsciousness from extreme wokeness

The Canadian Museum of History promises an excruciatingly woke experience, including the website accosting you with bright red “traditional, unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinabeg. This land has held, and continues to hold, great historical, spiritual and sacred significance.” Instead, as with MAID generally, Canadian history is anaesthetized and sedated before being dispatched.

How the Libs Are Trying to Spin the Shooting of National Guardsmen in DC Is Disgusting

They know they’re going to get wrecked by the normies; that’s conservatives and anyone else who isn’t Trump deranged. The Left’s policies are niche, illiberal, nonsensical, and laughably set up for total failure. So, when it was discovered that the suspect who shot two National Guardsmen was an Afghan national who overstayed his visa, they had to say something.

Thousands of former international students’ visas will expire soon. What happens next is murky

Tens of thousands of international students who were granted postgraduate work permits will see their visas expire this year, casting doubt on their futures in Canada and leading economists to wonder if some will stay in the country as undocumented residents.

There were 31,610 people with valid postgraduate work permits in the country as of Sept. 30, and those visas will expire by Dec. 31, according to data from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) provided to The Globe and Mail.

Those numbers have recently come under scrutiny by economists and immigration experts because it’s unclear how many temporary residents remain in the country after their visas expire, adding to the undocumented population.

Mark Carney drops Trudeau-era climate measures in energy deal with Alberta

OTTAWA — Prime Minister Mark Carney’s Liberal government is scrapping plans for a major national climate policy and immediately suspending another in Alberta alone, as part of a wide-ranging accord that softens federal measures for the oil-rich province and sees Ottawa throw its support behind a controversial new pipeline proposal.

It marks a significant shift in the federal government’s approach, placing peace with Alberta over imposing national regulations that were favoured under Carney’s predecessor as prime minister, Justin Trudeau.

No pipeline will be built.

Minnesota’s Somali Fraud Problem

Ryan Thorpe and Christopher Rufo are to be congratulated for the attention they have drawn to the issue of fraud committed by a large cast of Minnesota Somalis. I have devoted attention to the issue over the past eight years, including in a 2018 article I wrote for City Journal headlined “Mogadishu, Minnesota,” and in daily coverage of the two federal trials conducted so far in the massive Feeding Our Future fraud for Power Line.

The Feeding Our Future case involves some $300 million obtained by blatant, gross, and widespread fraud featuring a cast of mostly Somali perpetrators. Driven manifestly by greed, they wanted to get rich fast. The motive of greed permeates these cases.

Guilbeault quits Carney’s cabinet over energy deal with Alberta

Liberal MP Steven Guilbeault has quit cabinet over the federal government signing Thursday’s memorandum of understanding with Alberta, which jointly agrees on a path forward for a new bitumen pipeline to the B.C. coast.

“I chose to enter politics to champion the fight against climate change and the protection of the environment,” Guilbeault wrote in a lengthy statement on social media.

The Quebec MP had been serving as official languages minister, the minister of Canadian identity and culture — and Prime Minister Mark Carney’s Quebec lieutenant.

End of Impunity: Antifa, Public Enemy No. 1

On November 13, 2025, the US State Department added four European terrorist organizations to its list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs): Antifa Ost (Germany), the International Revolutionary Front (Italy), Armed Proletarian Justice (Greece) and Revolutionary Class Self-Defense (Greece).

This decision by the US administration was based on overwhelming evidence: knife and hammer attacks, shootings, bombings and the use of improvised explosive devices that targeted civilians, public infrastructure and private businesses.
