ABC, NBC, CBS Network Newscasts Skip House Hearing On Killing Of Christians In Nigeria

On Sunday, November 2nd, President Donald Trump said that he was considering sending U.S. troops to Nigeria, to help stop the killing of Christians at the hands of Muslim terror groups, claiming that these murders were being sanctioned by the Nigerian government. One day prior, the Administration placed Nigeria back on a list of “Countries of Particular Concern”, those that we believe have violated religious freedoms.

This past Thursday, the House Foreign Affairs Committee held a hearing on the killings and the major networks couldn’t be bothered to cover it on their nightly newscasts. Fox News’s Special Report with Bret Baier did cover the hearing.

There’s no shortage of beef in southern Alberta, but food banks around Lethbridge are looking for help covering the costs of turning donated cattle into meat they can dish out to clients.

Counties across the province this week endorsed a call for the Alberta government to restart a short-lived pilot program from 2014 that covered the associated costs of butchering, inspecting and packaging thousands of packs of hamburger given to food bank clients.

JOHANNESBURG – Prime Minister Mark Carney is in no hurry to resume trade talks with U.S. President Donald Trump but will speak again with the president “when it’s appropriate,” Carney said on Sunday.

Carney said he expects to speak with Trump sometime in the next two weeks but otherwise stands ready for when the Americans next knock on Canada’s door to return to the table.

“I look forward to speaking with the president soon, but I don’t have a burning issue to speak with the president about right now,” Carney said.

Conservative Young Women Flip the Script: Kids First, Then Career

For generations of women, the logic has seemed airtight: Focus on a career in your 20s, and worry about starting a family once you are established in a job.

This mindset has catapulted women into higher-earning positions, and into traditionally male-dominated fields. The share of women in their prime working years who are in the workforce is around a record high. And women are having babies later, if they have them at all. The answer to fertility constraints, they’re told, is egg freezing.

Isabel Brown, 28, didn’t want to wait. She married last year and had a baby this year. She’s now building her career as a conservative activist, hosting a podcast for conservative media company the Daily Wire and speaking on college campuses as a representative for Turning Point, the youth organization Charlie Kirk co-founded.

With its future uncertain, should the NDP pursue power or principles?

OTTAWA—There were cheers. But also some winces.

When Canadian Labour Congress president Bea Bruske asked NDP leadership hopeful Avi Lewis to describe the future of the labour movement in one word during an October forum, he shook his head and raised his hand in protest.

“Can’t do it,” he countered. “It’s two. General. Strike.”

Tommy Robinson supporters are turning to Christianity, leaving the Church in a dilemma

Gareth Talbot does not necessarily believe in God, but he’s started going to church.

He felt compelled to do so after taking part in one of Tommy Robinson’s rallies in September.

“I never thought I had to choose before, but now I’m feeling like Christianity could be replaced, so that’s why I feel the church needs support,” the 36-year-old from Bradford says.

Gareth talks about the church in England being under “threat”, as he sees it, mainly from Islam. He says his concern is about the extreme elements of Islam, not the religion as a whole.

Cringe No More: Carney Calls Halt To Trudeau’s Feminist Foreign Policy

Prime Minister Mark Carney, backing away from a key international priority of his Liberal predecessors, says his government does not have a feminist foreign policy.

Cabinet ministers under former prime minister Justin Trudeau announced in 2017 that their government had a feminist foreign policy, and they continued to refer to the policy for years after.

Their support deepened further in 2020 when the government promised to draft a full document to define the policy.

But despite years of backroom discussions by federal officials, no document was ever published. And now Mr. Carney is distancing himself from the concept.
