Is this finally rock bottom for Mr Andrew Mountbatten Windsor?

After weeks, months, years and even decades of scandals, all the titles and privileges of the former Prince Andrew have been completely removed.

There are no modern precedents for such a colossal loss of royal status.

Unlike the previous statement on his future, this was from Buckingham Palace rather than Andrew himself.

It’s a ripping off the bandage moment, which the Palace will hope will finally draw a line under the endless oil slick of bad news stories about Andrew.

Where will Andrew live on estate with its own troubled past?

There is something oddly fitting about Andrew Mountbatten Windsor ending up in a home on the Sandringham Estate.

The estate was bought for the future Edward VII when he was Albert, Prince of Wales. Albert was a frequenter of brothels who ended up giving evidence in court in the infamous baccarat scandal, which concerned cheating at cards. In short, the first royal resident of the estate was a model of impropriety, and now the latest tenant arrives similarly drenched in scandal.

Liberal whirlwind blocks Geert Wilders from power in lesson for Starmer

Geert Wilders will be banished to the opposition benches following election results that put centrist liberals in pole position to lead the next government.

The “Dutch Trump” won a landslide almost two years ago in a result that shook a Europe led by governments struggling to contain their own insurgent hard-Right parties.

Leaders including Sir Keir Starmer will be poring over Rob Jetten’s triumph for clues to how to ward off the threat of the populist and anti-migrant Right, led by the poll-topping Nigel Farage.

The Ford government’s automated speed enforcement legislation will become law just two weeks after it was first introduced, compelling municipalities to remove speed cameras before roundabouts, speed bumps and flashing lights have been installed.

Transportation Minister Prabmeet Sarkaria said an omnibus red tape bill, which includes the speed camera ban, will receive royal assent next Monday, with municipalities then required to remove the cameras by Nov. 14.

Hundreds reportedly killed at Sudanese hospital as evidence of RSF atrocities mounts

Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces killed hundreds of patients and staff inside a hospital in El Fasher, according to the World Health Organization and the Sudan Doctors Network, after the paramilitary group claimed control of the city on Sunday.

The WHO secretary general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said he was “appalled and deeply shocked” at reports that more than 460 people had been killed at the Saudi maternity hospital, without assigning blame, in a post on X.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, the Sudan Doctors Network, a medical group monitoring the civil war, said: “The Rapid Support Forces yesterday … killed in cold blood everyone they found inside the Saudi hospital.”

André Pratte: Thirty years on from the ’95 referendum, we are now three solitudes

Had 27,145 voters checked YES instead of NO on Oct. 30, 1995, the government of Québec, led by Parti Québécois leader Jacques Parizeau, would have started on the road towards declaring Quebec an independent country. That’s how close we came from Canada breaking up after its relatively short history of 128 years. The source of Québécois dissatisfaction with the rest of the country was then what it always had been and is still today: the perception that most Canadians have little time for the province’s specific identity.

Ontario Police Chief Tells MPs Nearly All Crime Guns Come From US, Urges Focus on Border Over Buyback

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Commissioner has told MPs that Ottawa should crack down on illegal guns coming over the U.S. border instead of collecting guns from law-abiding citizens through its buyback program, saying 91 percent of guns used in crime come from the United States.

“We will exceed over 2,000 crime guns this year again—91 percent of them are coming in from the U.S.,” OPP Commissioner and Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police president Thomas Carrique told MPs at a House of Commons justice committee meeting on Oct. 28.

“These are the dangers. These are the strains and drains on our resources, and this is where we need to be spending our time and our attention.”

NewsGuard Sent Us the Latest List of Our ‘Misinformation’. Here’s How We Replied

NewsGuard has been in touch again. The ‘fact checker’ founded by a Democrat activist and funded in part by Publicis Groupe, which represents leading pharmaceutical and healthcare companies including Pfizer, has sent the Daily Sceptic its annual interrogation over where its thought police have deemed that we have deviated from the approved narrative. From migrants eating wildlife to vaccines causing blood clots (though notably no climate objections this time – did we win that argument?), NewsGuard asks us to issue corrections to ensure the purity of the Official Narrative is left untarnished, even in the humble pages of the Daily Sceptic. Since NewsGuard’s completely impartial, not-at-all biased ratings are used by advertisers to blacklist companies and Microsoft to train its search engine, we thought we’d better reply, though with little hope of an improved rating given that when Toby bent over backwards to address NewsGuard’s points the first time we were contacted we saw our rating halved, as reported in the New York Post. Here’s what NewsGuard asks us this time, and our responses.
