Case of a single vote that decided a federal election in Canada sparks uproar

The case of a single vote which determined the outcome of a federal election in Canada risks sending the “disastrous message” to voters that “some votes count more than others”, says the lawyer of a former MP as a court considers whether to void the controversial election and hold a new vote.

Legal teams in Quebec are midway through a three-day hearing over whether a single vote – and an administrative error – truly swayed a recent election in a suburb north of Montreal.

Bloc Québécois member Nathalie Sinclair-Desgagné lost the electoral district of Terrebonne to Liberal Tatiana Auguste in the April vote.

The evil dictatorships that the left don’t want to know about

IN THE last two years we have been told, very clearly, that there are only two conflicts in the world that progressives and leftists (and most of the Western governments that follow their lead) care about.

Media and government attention, and leftist sympathy, has been overwhelmingly focused on the Ukraine-Russia and Israel-Hamas wars, seeing both in startlingly rigid moral terms.

John Ivison: Poilievre replays his old, conspiratorial hits as his leadership review nears

It’s not clear to me whether the mask slipped and Pierre Poilievre misspoke, or whether he genuinely believes there is a road to victory by parroting Donald Trump’s politics of grievance.

On the Northern Perspective podcast, the Conservative leader called the RCMP’s leadership “despicable” for what he called a cover-up of Liberal misadventures. “Many of the scandals of the Trudeau era should have involved jail time,” he said, specifically referring to the former prime minister’s vacation on the Aga Khan’s island in 2016 and the efforts to influence then attorney general Jody Wilson Raybould in the SNC Lavalin affair in 2018.

Everybody’s in on the act. Is it genuine opposition or just few cranks?

Oxford Union president-elect who ‘celebrated’ the death of Charlie Kirk is ousted after vote of no confidence

The controversial President-elect of the Oxford Union has been dramatically sacked following outrage over his remarks over the death of right-wing US influencer Charlie Kirk.

A resounding vote of no confidence by the membership of the prestigious debating society in George Abaraonye resulted in a more than 2:1 majority, with 1,228 votes in favour and only 501 against, well beyond the two-thirds majority needed to force his resignation.

The 70 per cent no confidence majority means he will be deemed to have resigned, effectively having been sacked after calling the vote himself to try and shore up his support.

Migration Takes Center Stage in Dutch Election Battle

Dutch Deputy Prime Minister Mona Keijzer, speaking in WNL Op Zondag, expressed her deep concern about the decline of freedom in the country. She believes this is the result of failed migration policies and the growing influence of Islamic culture—an issue that has become a key topic in the upcoming Dutch elections, scheduled for October 29.

The leading member of the agrarian populist Farmer-Citizen Movement (BBB) also pointed out that Dutch comedians no longer dare to joke about Islam, fearing for their own safety.

LILLEY: Carney’s foolish comments on Israel put Canada at risk

Mark Carney started last week with a good move on Canada-U.S. relations. He ended the week undoing it all. Just like he did last summer, Carney is poisoning Ottawa’s relations with Washington over his foolish and unthinking statements on the Middle East.

A “failed” deal they can blame on Israel is likely the LPC goal.

Canada is not going to win this negotiation may as well CYA.

CRA call centres gave auditors wrong information as often as 87 per cent of the time: AG

OTTAWA — Despite hundreds of millions of dollars of investments since a devastating 2017 audit, the Canada Revenue Agency’s call centres are still plagued with worsening reliability and accuracy problems as agents give wrong information as often as 87 per cent of the time.

That’s according to a new report by Auditor General Karen Hogan published on Tuesday. The audit found that Canadians are waiting far too long on hold to speak to an agent and, when they get through, they often receive inaccurate general information.

The Conservative: Canada’s most openly oppressed minority

Anti-conservative hate-crime has become the most enduring legacy of the Liberal era.

Recently, various aspects of the Canadian government colluded to discriminate against the Christian musician, Sean Feucht, and prevent him from performing on public property across Canada, due to the fact that Feucht is an open populist, as well as a steadfast Christian, and he has publicly expressed his own personal right-wing values and ideology.

And yet, the open censorship and persecution that Feucht was forced to endure is not at all extraordinary or abnormal for any conservative in Canada.

The consensus on immigration is crumbling as 8 in 10 Conservatives say too many are coming in: poll

The number of Canadians who say the federal government is letting in too many immigrants has spiked in recent years — and among Conservative voters the swing is even more dramatic, according to a new poll from Environics Institute.

The Canadian consensus that adding more newcomers is generally a positive development is crumbling — and it’s largely driven by most Conservative voters moving to a starkly more negative position on the immigration system.

Only the most stupid of Lib-Left ideologues believe the lies we’ve been fed about the benefits of not being able to afford a home or access healthcare in the name of immigration for the “Greater Good”. The rest lie out of habit.

Mass immigration only benefits the corporate class and vote whoring politicians (Which is all of them with rare exception).

And living in a low trust society where our government treats us like 2nd Class citizens reminds us every day that diversity is our strength.

From Berlin to Gaza, the Cult of Death Marches On

It’s eerie. Gaza 2025 and Berlin 1945 are so uncannily alike.

It’s not just the ruins everywhere. What grabs and shakes your attention are the executions.

In April 1945, the end of Nazi Germany was inescapable. The Red Army was smashing and raping its way westward towards Berlin. The Brits, the Americans, and the Canadians controlled the air, their armies had crossed the Rhine and broken through the Siegfried Line, and Patton was surging through Bavaria and nearing Czechoslovakia. The Nazi empire of death was being exposed to the world as Auschwitz, Bergen-Belsen, and Buchenwald fell into Allied hands. The end of the Third Reich could come any day.
