Confederate Chaos in Chicago

Are we living in 1859?

I ask it that way because all you can see and hear from Chicago are chaos, anarchy, violence, leftist conspiracy theories and exhortations by Democrats to ruin, and murder federal officials enforcing the law. It’s getting worse by the day.

The residents of the Democrat fever swamp now scream across broadcast media that President Trump will end Democracy in a year. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to rely on information from the local left-leaning corporate legacy news media–Sun Times and Tribune–as violent leftist mobs backed by Democrat politicians continue attacking federal law enforcement officers across the country.

Doug Ford’s ‘Captain Canada’ shtick is getting old. Doesn’t he have a province to run?

Poor Captain Canada. He was once our nation’s hero, but the country seems less enamoured with his shtick now that his arch enemy, U.S. President Donald Trump, has retreated back to his lair to cultivate his malevolent schemes against various foes, and not simply Canada.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford began discovering his powers at the beginning of the year, when Canada was being governed by a lame-duck prime minister and a distinct absence of leadership at the federal level. With no one to counter Mr. Trump’s threats of punishing tariffs, our hero donned his uniform – a navy “Canada Is Not For Sale Hat – and bravely made idle threats about cutting off electricity to the Americans.

Christine Van Geyn: Beware Mark Carney’s censorship agenda

Mark Carney’s Prime Minister’s Office has become famous — or infamous, depending on your view — for embracing British traditions. The National Post reports that the new PMO expects all documents to use British spelling. Staff are expected to dress in formal business attire. Anecdotally, men are expected to wear black shoes — so standard in London’s financial and political circles that there’s even a saying: “never wear brown in town.”

Celebrating the End of EVs

At least the government incentives that distort the market.

The $7,500 federal “incentive” dangled as an inducement to move the EV needle has expired. This means EV sales — if you want to use that word to describe a transaction involving the buyer, the seller, and you, the party who is taxed to “help” facilitate it — are likely to slide even farther below the waterline than they already were. This tends to happen when people are obliged to pay full price for a thing that is only tempting to them when it is heavily discounted — like those half-off dented cans of soup you sometimes see on sale at the supermarket.

Self-Driving Cars Becoming Unstoppable

Despite union efforts to squelch this industry, Waymo and others keep proving that robots are better drivers than human beings

SACRAMENTO — After San Bruno police couldn’t figure out how to ticket a driverless taxicab that made an illegal U-turn, the Legislature passed a measure that would hold these companies responsible for the rare traffic violation. That is not only unobjectionable but signals good news. Last year, the Legislature had tried — but failed — to pass a law that would have essentially allowed localities to regulate these vehicles. That would have put the kibosh on their expansion in major metro areas if individual localities could limit or forbid them on local streets.

The food industry’s new addiction? Exploiting The TFW Scam

Canada’s food industry has become addicted to the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP). The numbers tell a sobering story.

In just a few months of enforcement data — from July to late September 2025 — the federal government has listed 26 food-related employers found non-compliant with federal rules governing the program. That’s everything from oyster farms to sushi restaurants, cafes, and food processors. That’s nearly 40% of all companies fined during that period.

Who Should NOT Play a Role in Post-War Gaza: The Foxes in Charge of the Chicken Coop?

How serious is US President Donald J. Trump about his peace plan? While everyone is eager to celebrate the successful completion of Phase One, with the return of the Israeli hostages in exchange for 2,000 imprisoned Palestinian terrorists, the rest remains to be seen.

The Trump Peace Plan began as an ultimatum: If Hamas would not release all the hostages within 72 hours, Israel would have the blessing of the US to “finish the job” full blast.

Liberals rebuff Tory push to end birthright citizenship scam

OTTAWA — Federal Justice Minister Sean Fraser says he supports the continuation of birthright citizenship, calling it a bedrock of equal rights, in response to a Conservative MP’s push to end the practice.

“I believe that we should maintain birthright citizenship in Canada, and I don’t know if I can be any more direct than that,” Fraser told reporters on his way to a Liberal caucus meeting on Wednesday.

GAI’s Seamus Brunner Reveals Left-Wing Funders Such as Roy Singham Behind Antifa Riots

Seamus Bruner, the Director of Research at the Government Accountability Institute (GAI) revealed that left-wing funders such as billionaire Neville Roy Singham were behind left-wing Antifa riots and protests.

During a roundtable event on Antifa with President Donald Trump, Bruner explained that he, GAI President Peter Schweizer, and their team “followed” a trail of money and “followed it to the top of what” they called the Protest Industrial Complex, or Riot Inc. Bruner explained that the so-called “Riot Inc.” was made up of many different divisions, and that “dozens of radical organizations” have received millions of dollars from Riot Inc.

Most Canadians think boycotting U.S. goods or travel is helpful: Nanos

Four in five Canadians surveyed believe boycotting U.S.-made goods or avoiding travel to the United States could help strengthen Canada’s bargaining position with its southern neighbour, according to a new Nanos Research survey commissioned by CTV News.

The poll found 80 per cent of Canadians think such boycotts would be “helpful or somewhat helpful” in response to U.S. tariffs on Canadian goods. Fewer than one in five respondents, or 18 per cent, said they believe it would be not helpful or somewhat not helpful.

A lot of Canadians voted for Carney as well …

Influencers — not news outlets or politicians — ‘dominated’ election online: report

OTTAWA – Influencers had the “loudest voices” online in this spring’s federal election, overtaking news outlets and politicians, says a new report.

The report from the Canadian Digital Media Research Network, co-ordinated by the McGill University and University of Toronto-led Media Ecosystem Observatory, looked at the election information environment.

Influencers were the most active in terms of frequency and volume of online posts and received the most engagement, said Aengus Bridgman, director of the Media Ecosystem Observatory.

Professor who teaches about “antifascism” moves to Europe after death threats

Faced with a stream of death threats, a Rutgers University history professor who teaches about antifascism said he is moving out of the United States just a month into the fall semester.

Mark Bray, who has taught at Rutgers since 2019, told his students Sunday that his courses would move online immediately.

“Since my family and I do not feel safe in our home at the moment, we are moving for the year to Europe,” Bray said in an email to students. “Truly I am so bummed about not being able to spend time with you all in the classroom.”
