Fear grips Capitol Hill: “Untouchable? We’re all touchable now”

The attack on the Capitol a week ago has left lawmakers with a heightened sense of vulnerability about their own security — and fresh questions about whether their own leaders and the U.S. Capitol Police are adequately equipped to handle those concerns.

Good. Partisan, petty, and vindictive Congress has created our current toxic political environment. Perhaps now they will realize who they work for, and what the price is for incompetence and betrayal.

The incomprehensible new directives include a stay-at-home-order that prohibits outings except for “essential purposes” such as grocery shopping and exercise, but still allows “non-essential retail stores” to remain open, albeit with restricted hours. Ontarians are not supposed to leave their homes except for necessary trips, but the province also announced that organized outdoor public gatherings will now be capped at a maximum of five. Indoor weddings are still permitted for up to 10 people, even though Ontario is now in a state of emergency.

Apparently, no fines were issued at the protest attended by Singh and Paul. But as closely followed by Rebel News at our civil liberties site FightTheFines.com, protesters around Canada have faced many fines for simply exercising their Charter rights to protest. Calgary police officers have carded and fined those attending Calgary’s weekly “Walk for Freedom.” Several have even received tickets days later.

Government won’t say if bureaucrats who misused government credit cards were fired

Two staff members at the federal employment department were found to be misusing government credit cards, but the government isn’t saying what happened to them, according to Blacklock’s Reporter.

In a statement, the Department of Employment and Social Development said one manager and one employee were involved in the misuse. It didn’t say if police were involved, or what happened to the two bureaucrats.
