There is considerable turmoil and confusion on very many North American campuses. Students in particular, and even some professors, are somewhat perplexed on the “idea of a university,” and the particular relationships to be found on campus. I’d like to offer a very slim vade mecum or guide on a few essential understandings. Kind of a pamphlet — On Going to University. It is mainly addressed to would-be students. Here goes.
