Ontario reports 480 new COVID-19 cases, 2 more deaths

Ontario is reporting close to 500 new COVID-19 cases today as the average daily case count continues to rise in the province.

Officials are reporting 480 new infections today, up from 422 last Monday and 326 two weeks ago.


Lines of cars wait to enter US as pandemic travel ban is lifted

The US reopened its borders Monday after 20 months of travel restrictions — immediately creating wild miles-long lines of cars waiting to cross over from Canada and Mexico.

The strict restrictions, first imposed by the Trump administration in March 2020, had barred access to non-US citizens traveling from 33 countries as well as overland entry from Mexico and Canada.

But starting Monday, fully vaccinated travelers are now allowed again, with tourists rushing to make long-delayed trips and overseas family members finally able to reconnect with loved ones.
