This federal minister says it’s time to give land back to Indigenous peoples. What could that look like?
Marc Miller, the newly-minted Liberal Crown-Indigenous relations minister, is striving to place at the front of the government’s reconciliation agenda: land.
In his first comments in the new role this fall, Miller turned heads when he stated that “it’s time to give land back” to Indigenous peoples. It was an invocation of an established goal of Indigenous activists pressing to reverse the damaging impacts of colonialism in this country, one of the core aims of Idle No More and other movements since. And it was a statement with potential relevance to Indigenous nations across Canada, from the Wet’suwet’en opposing a pipeline project in northern B.C., to the people of Attawapiskat who are hoping to acquire new land for housing in their community.

‘Capitol Punishment’ Documentary on January 6 is a Must-Watch
Pre-dawn FBI raids were conducted by dozens of armed agents transported in tactical vehicles to terrorize January 6 protesters and their neighbors. Citizens were ratted on by their friends and colleagues. Families were bankrupted and traumatized by the Biden regime’s ongoing crusade to punish hundreds of Americans who protested his unlawful election. People are held behind bars and denied bail based on their political views as trials are delayed far into 2022. And then there was the near point-blank execution of Ashli Babbitt at the hands of a Capitol Police lieutenant, who still is praised as a hero by the media and lawmakers of both parties while facing no criminal consequences for his actions that day.
Remembering December Eight Decades Ago
As we enter this troubled December, let us reach back eighty years. To another December, and eight days that birthed the world of peril and promise we occupy today.
In the first days of December 1941, the German Army was approaching Moscow from the north, west and south. The Wehrmacht steadily advanced despite snow, bitter cold, and fanatical resistance. Everyone in Europe and the United States braced for word that the Soviet capital had fallen. The Soviet Union – a horrible entity to be sure – seemed doomed.
Facebook Asks Users to Send in Their Nude Pictures (Again)
Facebook (now known as Meta) has reportedly co-developed a platform that asks people to submit their nude photographs and videos to prevent them from being used as “revenge porn” across Facebook’s platforms. Mark Zuckerberg and the Masters of the Universe expect users to fully trust them not only with every private detail of their life, but also with their nude bodies.
