Midday turnout at 26.41% as Macron and Le Pen vie for French presidency

French voters head to the polls on Sunday in the second and final round of the country’s presidential election, with President Emmanuel Macron and his far-right challenger Marine Le Pen facing off in a rematch of their 2017 duel. Midday turnout stood at 26.41%, according to the interior ministry, almost 2 points less than at noon in the vote five years ago.
