US soldier investigated for ‘insider attack’ on Syrian base

Pentagon says placement of ‘explosive charges’ that wounded four American personnel may have been carried out by rogue agent

The United States military is investigating whether one of its own soldiers detonated explosives in an insider attack on a Syrian base in which four American servicemen were wounded.
US army and air force investigators have identified a US service member as the “possible suspect” responsible for explosions at the Green Village base in eastern Deir ez-Zor province on April 7 that was initially believed to have been caused by an insurgent attack.
