If there’s one positive benefit of the massive nationwide outage that affected Rogers Communications customers on Friday, it’s that there now seems to be broad support for increased competition in the telecommunications sector. Unfortunately, many on the left seem intent on punishing the telecom giant for being too successful, and are focused almost exclusively on the company’s proposed $20-billion takeover of Shaw Communications.
