
This past weekend, a hospital in the nation’s capital shut down its emergency department overnight. Montfort Hospital, in the east end of Ottawa, was closed between 7:30 p.m.-7:30 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
The residents of this community are not being well-served, and they have a right to be angry and to demand better. Right now, we have hospital executives and provincial governments spinning the public about how this is a complex problem with multiple factors at play.
