Last winter, in the dead of an endless pandemic, Judy Martens says she was in a dark place.
She had lost her job as a “glorified litter box cleaner” at a veterinary clinic in her hometown of Kelowna, B.C., and moved in with her parents to help care for her dad after he suffered a third stroke.
