Islamic world focuses its anger on Sweden over burning of violent cult’s Koran: Muslims across the globe set fire to Swedish flags in retaliation
The Muslim world has erupted into protest demanding the closure of Swedish embassies after Sweden issued the permit for a far-right politician to burn the Koran at a rally.
Swedish-Danish politician Rasmus Paludan on Saturday set fire to a copy of the Islamic holy book in front of Turkey’s embassy in the Swedish capital, stoking the anger of Turkey which then said it would not support the Scandinavian country’s bid for NATO membership.
Indonesia and Turkey both soon summoned their Swedish envoys following the book burning.
