The lockdown effect? Gun injuries in US surged by more than a THIRD during pandemic, CDC data confirms

The number of Americans hurt by guns during surged during the Covid pandemic, with experts pointing to antisocial behavior fueled by lockdowns and anti-police demonstrations.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that the number of gun-related homicides in America increased 35 percent in 2020 and 2021 when compared to previous years. Overall, gun injuries jumped 40 percent.

Government researchers also found that gun-related ER visits jumped from 50,000 in 2019 to 72,000 in 2020.
