The unusual item stolen from Westminster Abbey night before Queen Elizabeth’s coronation
Lavatory paper went missing from Westminster Abbey the night before Queen Elizabeth II’s Coronation, archives have revealed.
The Record of Procedure, a book detailing the meticulous planning and preparation that went into the late Queen’s Coronation in 1953, states: “It was found, early on Coronation day, that much of the lavatory paper had been removed.”
