Hundreds of US government staff in San Francisco have been told to work from home because rampant crime has made it too unsafe to go to the office.
The Department of Health and Human Services told employees at the Nancy Pelosi Federal Building to “maximise the use of telework for the foreseeable future” due to “conditions” outside the building.
The office houses a variety of federal employees, plus staff working for Ms Pelosi, the former speaker of the House of Representatives.
