In her first full interview, a woman who alleges that the comedian raped her tells The Times why she is talking about it now
When Nadia began her treatment at a medical centre for victims of rape, she struggled to verbalise what had just happened to her.
“I literally couldn’t say the word ‘rape’, ” she reflects. “I couldn’t believe that [could happen] to anyone I know, as silly as that was. But by the end of it, I was like, ‘Oh my god. He raped me.’ ”
It was summer 2012 and her assailant, Nadia claims, was Russell Brand, the actor and comedian, who at that point was at the height of his fame and living in Los Angeles.
