GOLDSTEIN: Public exposure best remedy to foreign interference

Whatever the outcome of the public inquiry into foreign interference headed by Quebec Court of Appeal Judge Marie-Josée Hogue, the process that led up to it has already been of benefit to Canadians.

Without it, it is difficult to believe Prime Minister Justin Trudeau would have announced in the House of Commons Monday that Canadian security and intelligence authorities are “actively pursuing credible allegations of a potential link between agents of the government of India” and the fatal shooting of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar outside a Sikh temple in Surrey, B.C. on June 18.
