Jagmeet Singh’s NDP are taking votes away from Justin Trudeau — but are losing some support to Pierre Poilievre, poll finds

OTTAWA — When New Democrats convene in Hamilton this week for their national policy convention, party faithful will be marking a bevy of firsts.

It’s the first time party delegates will gather under one roof since the NDP’s 2018 convention, after the COVID-19 pandemic reduced the party’s 2021 affair to a virtual format beset by technical glitches.

It’s the first time grassroots members will make their feelings known about Leader Jagmeet Singh since his deal with the Trudeau government, which could see the NDP prop up the slumping Liberals for nearly two more years.
