Toronto police Deputy Chief Lauren Pogue said large-scale demonstrations are expected this weekend.
“The public will continue to notice an increased police presence in and around demonstration areas and neighbourhoods across our city,” she said at a Friday afternoon press conference at
Toronto police headquarters. The police hate-crime unit will be on the ground “gathering evidence,” she said.
